So many of her songs are wasted opportunities to be honest. But yeah this song is absolutely stunning.
Yeah missed opportunity.....
Whole catalogue of wasted opportunities. Join the crew "Rather Be". The song is flawless, i was hoping for one live performance too.
Looove this song, and Say Something
Should've been the first single, instead of the ridiculous baby mama song
Had it repeat on Tuesday!
Should have been the first single followed by Borderline
Her best "modern" song in a while
Woo
Between Rather Be and Borderline...omff
Rather Be is the DYK of B7--should've been a single
Fun Fact:
Rather Be was recorded later in the album and it was talks about it maybe being the first single.
Then it was some more serious talks about it being the second single.
I advocated for it.
but...
:letsmessfag:
What should we do with this very pertinent information.

I love Rather Be too and it should have been a single.. but the first and second single choices were the right ones...
 :-P
Honestly B7 doesn't sound like a really radio/ "hit singles" type album. It probably wouldn't have done much better regardless what was released as a single. I just think more songs should've been performed live, like how Jazmine did.

However I think Brandy really promoted herself as a legend overall more than her album specifically during b7 era

Yea she did, and i was proud of her. This has been her most balanced era since NSN. I'm ok with the single choices, i just wanted more singles. I believe "No Tomorrow" could have brought a lot of attention to the project with some Covid19 theme.
What the FUCK was she thinking releasing Baby Mama?
Made no damn sense. Your daughter turns 18 and now you wanna sing about being a baby mama? :uhh:
Glad we got it
:blessed:
Great album self

Baby Mama was the perfect first single.
- She had just been on Broadway doing fosse-style routines and Baby Mama is the perfect blend of Musical and RnB with a nod to the fosse-style of Sammy Davis Jr's The Rhythm of Life which is all about Daddy... and Brandy is Mommy

Oh hell no!!! Whoever voted against these decisions should stay far away from her single choices moving forward smfh
Rather Be
Borderline
No Tomorrow (Album Version)
Say Something
Lucid Dreams
Were the only single choices for this album but honestly b7 would've thrived being a visual album or at least a short film visual for tracks 2-8... that's the sweet spot for b7
The transition from Unconditional Oceans to Rather Be into AML, Pt 1 then to Lucid Dreams

Baby Mama should've been reworked lyrically... the beat is fire & should've been a song Victoria Monet wrote on as well
Every era :dead:

I love baby mama glad she did it tbh it's for the girls tho. I went out to a club several months ago and that song came on people went crazy. Just because we don't like it doesn't mean it won't resonate with others.
I loved it. Sonically it's a great song.

This next album is gonna be epic though
The lyrics of baby mama were bad, it's like the song was written in a few minutes without much thought put into it..... And she expected it to be an anthem that would be played around the world, I think she refused to listen to advice about the song and went ahead with it because it was a personal song to her

I just wanted to hear the remix with ci, kehlani and was there someone else?

The Apple Music execs knew what's up.
They choose the song to promote the album on their platform.
