is it super well known that he created that phrase?

that would speak to malicious intent on her part

there's a difference between someone seeing a phrase taking off and sayin "ooh bitch lemme be the one to trademark it"

and pulling a "Queens Court" mess where you know exactly who made up the name/saying and trademarking it without their knowledge/involvement

there are certain phrases that have a clear source. like "close ur legs to married men" or "i said what i said" or "who gon check me boo?", or "and i oop!"
like everyone knows where these came from. sdsdsdsdsd

it would be VERY hard to believe someone had no clue they were stealing something directly from one of those people.

im not sure if the same can be said for "it's givin".

he popularized that and purrrrrr all the way back in 2019/2020

He's definitely the source

He should have trademarked it so this wouldn't happened, but I doubt he had money or resource to do that at the time

for me it's not a question of if he's the source or not
im pretty sure he could be or that he is

but he's speaking to her intent. he's saying that she intentionally targeted him and stole from him cuz it would be easy

that's what im questioning really. i see people in the comments debating on who really came up with the phrase so it's safe to say she may not have known it came from him.

i've def heard the phrase before but im not very familiar with rolling ray or him coming up with it. so that's why i'm looking at this from another angle

not to say he didn't come up with it, but again just speaking to intent. his main issue here and what he finds most offensive about this is clearly intent.

doja still has a chance to make this right
if she didn't mean to steal directly from king

if he can prove with receipt or at least by the cosign of overwhelming consensus that he def came up with the phrase she should cut him in on the mess in some way.

I don't know her intent but it can't be a coincidence that she quoted him almost verbatim in the promo video she posted on twitter

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Lx3xsiIwuA

"it did not give what it was supposed to gave"

she's very active online(as is evident by those tinychats she was in) and that was a big meme, so I'm really doubtful she doesn't knows where it originated honestly.

someone can be very active online and still manage to miss one meme thats floating around

there's a lot of memes floating around at any given point

fssffssffsfsfs that's honestly not enough proof for me to say she targeted him
it's still highly assumptive imo

now if there's a tweet or post of her literally using said meme, that's obviously a lot different.

it'll be interesting to see how she handles this if it gets big enough legs.

she should cut him in if this is indeed his phrase . he's such a character too im sure it would be a cute collabo
legally she wouldn't be required to but morally i'd hope she would make the right decision.
