I had no idea this song was about James Brown's death. Absolutely brilliant.

Brandy on Lucid Dreams was also an amazing concept to me. Trying to sleep while obsessing over a man, hallucinating and  having visions of past interactions with this person after going through a horrible break up, depressed not wanting to be here anymore because of it and having dreams. Who hasn't been through that? Many have but they are afraid to talk about it,  let alone sing about it. Many artists wouldn't dare go to those depths of sadness yet Brandy was courageous enough to go there, and even revel in it on that amazing song. That album will always have my respect because of that song alone. I've never heard anything like it. She served.
