i always thought people ZOOMED in on certain mess in that story
when there was so much going on within that city that caused "god" to eventually burn it down
but there are definitely verses in the bible that, at the very least ....
do a great job of SEEMING very blatantly anti-gay.
(Leviticus 20:13 and 18:22)
the language used definitely sounds like it's clearly addressing two men laying down with one another to have sex, and putting them to death as a punishment.
maybe there's some debate about the interpretation but i can't blame so many christians for assuming it's referring to gay sex/love, when it literally says "if a man is to lay down with a man as he would a woman, it is an abomination. the punishment is death"
it's in the bible. and i think when a lot of us gay folks hear that "its in the bible " phrase , its very triggering for us but the reality is ..... language that, at the very least, can EASILY be perceived/interpreted as anti-gay is definitely in that book.
along with instructions for us to pay our taxes on time and obey the law of the land...conveniently.
I still have been unable to reconcile scripture and homosexuality despite stuff like this.

My grandmother has always been fiercely religious but I kinda feel lucky that she never let that book dictate how she treated her family. Or how she loved us.
It it were any different I woulda been out voguing in a homeless shelter somewhere.
I remember being 17 and 18 seeing other gay youngsters out on the street ... turning tricks to survive , catching diseases . Dying . All because "it's in the Bible".
and it broke my heart. That book is demonic .
I'm sorry if I offend anyone that believes in that.
I just know that I am looked out for, without believing a word of the Bible. I'd like to think those are my actual ancestor spirits who look out for me and clearly have "everlasting life" .... And I doubt those African kangs and kweens had to believe Jesus died on the cross for their sins.

It was actually a big biblical debate over scripture, the original language the Bible was written in, whether it's really saying homosexuality is a sin or not etc
I always felt that Christians need to let God make his own decisions. We all have "faith" in a way about what "God" does or will do in the future but we don't KNOW anything for certain so why would we spend our days persecuting ppl when there is a possibility that it's all for nothing?
