not these nurses losing their jobs (and possibly their entire careers) just for some quick hehes, hahas, clicks and views on TikTok :shannonsmissing:
did they really think talking about the women they serve and how annoying they were during the most important and sensitive time of their lives would end well?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyVsCrj1hlY
Nnnn I saw this on LipstickAlley a few days ago :kii:
Maybe it's just me but they didn't even say anything that was really bad? It was just the usual complaints you hear from any other nurse nnnn
I really don't understand why they fired them because nurses are currently in high demand. Hospitals have been overworked and understaffed these past 3 years due to Covid, so I'm sure these girls will find a new job relatively quickly.
I didn't think they said anything terrible either. They weren't violating anyone's privacy nor were they being specific. Unprofessional, yes, but didn't warrant termination.

i dont think what they said was bad...it just shoulda stayed in the break room
Emory had no choice but to take action because now they not only have women who complained about their experience at their hospital, but nurses actually going on camera saying "yeah these bitches get on my nerves lol"
it's all about professionalism and appearances ultimately

its not about saying something terrible though
unprofessionalism in itself is enough to warrant some sort of discipline
unprofessionalism is usually what costs people their jobs. sfsfsfssfsf
companies are very particular about people representing them/their brand on the internet.
they are VERY sensitive to it and are swift with action
if anything, historically thats the quickest thing that could get u fired
saying something edgy while ur wearing ur company uniform
this specific hospital has a history of complaints against them for mistreatment
and now they have nurses getting on camera basically saying "yeah these bitches annoy me"
not a good look. it's all about OPTICS.
i dont see the issue they didnt name names. alot of different ppl do this
it's wasn't about what they said
it was about the fact that they're TRASH at their job and the gors came forward a bit vvvvvvvvvv
if they were good nurses, this wouldn't have been a story at all
two things can be true at the same time.
its their words AND these patients coming forward
these women would still have their jobs if they weren't on camera talking junk for tik tok.
it's safe to assume that
everyone in here saying "what they said wasn't that bad" is totally different from the actual women who gave birth
Black women being unheard and mistreated in hospitals has already been a topic of discussion for the LONGEST time.
that is literally the first thing I thought of when I saw this video - including the women coming forward with their stories.
and im not alone with these thoughts.
this just isn't the game these nurses should have been playing. period.
in ATLANTA of all places.
they deserved to be canned for their unprofessionalism and INSENSITIVITY.

yeah give these queens their job back
unless there is some clause that says they cant do what they did in their nurse contract they should sue

i can appreciate u wanting to have a "support the black women" moment
but if u really wanna bring that all the way home...
dont forget the black women in the video who were HURT by these videos because of their mistreatment.
look at the video and the faces of the women who are sharing their stories.
don't dismiss or ignore
their trauma and experience. which is way deeper than keeping a job.

it actually sucks that black nurses are participating in this mess cuz this has been such a long time conversation and a VERY serious fight for black women when it comes to not being treated fairly or taken seriously in hospitals.
literally can mean life or death if someone in a hospital doesn't HEAR you when u complain or roll their eyes and say "girl calm down u know its not that bad...u bitches always be so dramatic lol u a skrong black woman u got dis! " when u say ur aching badly
its not something to take lightly. especially not on camera

i get it hun. im playing devils advocate. a good lawyer is going to argue that and figure every way to win for their client. These are the questions they are gonna ask when a lawsuit comes and the answer is no lol

but a REALLY good lawyer would come at another angle other than "did they name names tho?!" considering this isn't an alleged violation of HIPPA privacy laws that cost them their job.
this entire thing has very little to do with privacy violation

I don't think they should have been fired but once complaints started rolling suspension without pay for a week or two was warranted.
Nursing, like teaching, is a job that's held to higher standard of morality, no one wants to see the nurse that's handling their baby kiki'ing on Tick Tock and about what a difficult patient they were - cause the it's like, bitch are you gonna take it out on my child :uhh:
I don't even think the things said we're that bad, but it was all in bad taste. My Mum was a nurse and she would never.
There are certain jobs that require you to have the trust of the public (teachers, officers, nurses, judges, etc), so you are held to a higher standard with your actions. Them making statements like this, would make the public question the type of care/disregard they would receive if they were in their care.
On top of the fact that they literally filmed this at work in their uniform--dumb. Most jobs have a social media policy or behavioral policy about harming the reputation or goodwill of your company. We would have to see the wording of the policy.
I work in HR, and more than likely, we would have fired them for this video as well. The least they would have gotten was put on a Final. I've terminated so many people for shit they've posted on social media. I had to terminate a guy for taking dick pics in his uniform in the company bathroom that he sent to one of the guest :heyddy:
Trust me when I tell you, it's mostly your coworkers that are snitching on you and telling HR about it lol... The number of screenshots that popup in my email :plzstop:
I have a no coworker policy when it comes to my social media accounts for this very reason.

and there u have it
This is exactly what I was saying
A lot of companies now WARN employees about fuckin with their company's reputation on social media with foolery and the (usually swift and severe ) consequences that will follow .
You have to be careful and they shoulda def kept this in the break room. It's a very bad look for Emory
Part of me almost feels like this was self sabotage . Like they WANTED to get fired bdbdbdbdb that's how reckless it is .

Wrong thread
yea we see tik toks like this all the time. clearly the only issue was the nurses being actual trash at their jobs
Quote from: ivorian oph on December 13, 2022, 07:22:33 AMyea we see tik toks like this all the time. clearly the only issue was the nurses being actual trash at their jobs
putting it on tik Tok is what got them fired , so their usage of social media became an issue for their employer , which in turn became an issue for the nurses.
You're kinda assuming that they're " trash at their jobs" but these videos weren't footage of them failing to perform
It was videos of them expressing their
FEELINGS.
An employee can be highly competent at their job, perform every task assigned and fulfill every request made ..: but still find a quiet corner to curse people out cuz they low key hate who they work for and/or who they serve as part of their duties .
So the issue isn't the nurses not being good at their jobs as we don't even know about their performance . The issue is them taking to social media to air out very inappropriate thoughts that should have remained private .
I don't know about you but I don't care how amazing my doctor is , I don't wanna see him on Tik tik saying "ugh these got damn patients get on my nerves . Can't stand them".
No matter how good he was at taking care of me , and how much he smiled in my face during my check ups ... I'd be wondering if I were one of those patients he cannot stand . Am I the patient he's talking about who asks too many questions?
And that's just not a thought someone should have when it's involving something as serious and deeply personal as MEDICAL CARE.
I hope that makes sense .
but if that breakdown I gave you still doesn't make sense
here's an actual statement from the company (Emory) which specifies the issue was "unprofessional comments made on TikTok".
@ivorian oph no mention of the nurse's actual performance is made.
https://twitter.com/NWTSNaomi/status/1601656333589442560
yea these tiktoks wouldn't have made any type of splash if it weren't for the women coming forward to point out the horror stories they had with these specific nurses who were trash at their jobs.

those specific nurses weren't named by any patients who are speaking up at all luv.
Those patients spoke out on their experiences with the hospital itself. In general
You don't seem to be very informed about the story and I think that's what tripping you up .
As Emory stated, Emory fired them for inappropriate unprofessional behavior on social media .
And I must stress : "as Emory stated. "
We have the reason already - from the employer . We don't have to speculate or make things up.
yea the two ladies in the video pointed out nurses specifically in the tiktok
Quote from: ivorian oph on December 13, 2022, 10:55:13 AMyea the two ladies in the video pointed out nurses specifically in the tiktok
we have the official reason from Emory as to why ALL nurses involved were terminated .
... which they say is due to unprofessional behavior on Tik Tok.
If u feel Emory is confused as to why they fired all nurses involved at this point imma say email them to debate it.
I'm not about to argue what's clearly written in black and white from the employer themselves .
Ndndndndn so I'm done .
yeah the hospital used the tiktoks as justification for the firing as to not acknowledge the deeper accusations that would directly effect their reputation. but none of this would have ever needed to be addressed had the women not come forward to speak out ob the shit care they received from these nurses who were trash at their jobs. yea def makes sense
Giving birth is the most dangerous time for a woman and baby. This ain't no joke. It was really sad seeing that one woman who lost her baby speak and she did name the women in the video.
This was silly of them and it's obvious there were even lies for ki's. I've heard of ghetto twins but never a same DAY, same HOSPITAL, Usain Bolt mess between rooms for the father. Child please. The gorls were entirely too comfortable playing around.
