honestly when i first noticed his valley boy-ish accent, love for skateboarding, and him holding up his lighter mixed baby like it was simba on the pride...something in my gut was telling me he was kinda ..... distant from black culture/people but i didn't wanna believe or even assume he was anti-black.
so i didn't bother to state my observations in the threads/convos about him as i felt it was irrelevant and would could have been an ambitious assumption.
but here we are. this comes as no surprise to me.
however, my heart still hurts for him cuz in these tweets he calls himself ugly, and he is insistent of it. even though he clearly was a very handsome man. but i get it.
the gorls are gonna rip him apart as this circulates but i feel this was a case of projection.
who knows what was said to him as a darker skinned unambiguous black boy/man.

he clearly wasnt that much of "kinfolk" himself it seems but what happened to him still was wrong
self-hatred is something he could have grown out of eventually or could have done the work to heal. but he was robbed of that opportunity
but yeah, i hope his mother never sees those tweets. for many reasons
it's just hard for me to must sympathy for self-haters personally.
but yeah what happened to him is wrong, and to happen at the hands of multiple black men is very sick (but not surprising).

self-hate often times is the byproduct of anti-blackness someone has experienced themselves
I'd say this rings true for him especially cuz he kept saying "I'm ugly". Don't know his life story but it wouldnt be far fetched to say he was most likely projecting .
But honestly I don't fault anyone ... especially black women for saying finding this out about him makes them lose a lot of sympathy .
People are still human at the end of the day and you still will be held responsible for ur own actions regardless of possible backstory . Not everyone's gonna sit and ponder the reasoning behind ur "hear ye hear ye I'm anti black yall" speeches .
Some people will just say fuck him and keep it movin . And I get that
Honestly those were kinda my first thoughts before my wheels started turning a lil more .
And he was 20/21 when he said this? Def old enough to know better, RIP.
So he deserved to be beat to death?
Quote from: Buy The Stars✨ on February 04, 2023, 09:20:40 PMSo he deserved to be beat to death?
Not sure...
But he def doesnt deserve the pity that black women were given him or any other man thats slain by cops but trashes them and looks down on them.
If I were a black woman I def would smile a little knowing he's gone. sorry

How does skateboarding and having a valley-ish accent spark a red flag for being distant from "black culture"?
I get what you're saying but that's an odd segue.
Unfortunate all around though.

if u get what I'm saying then why... nvm.
I'll entertain it.
Like I said , I'm not very surprised he ended up being anti-black.
At the most, I thought he was just not very "urban" at all....which is OK. We are not a monolith
But It wasn't JUST his accent or skateboarding , it was that pic of him holding up his lighter skinned mixed baby like it was simba that was the hugest red flag for me once COMBINED with every other tea I clocked .
Every parent is usually and should be proud of their child but something about that pic, with everything else in mind, made me think of those black men who make it their life's mission to get themselves a mixed baby.
And no shade but I was right . I made a choice not to immediately voice my observations and keep them to myself because I could have been wrong.
I now feel comfortable saying what I felt because there's evidence to support it.
But ultimately he was still a victim of internalized anti-blackness himself . From the people who caused him to hate the color of his skin and project that hatred onto others, to the black men who ended his life .
He's still a victim.

true -
and the conversation of internalized anti-blackness and its effects on the community is bigger than him as well.
If anything these unearthed tweets serve as a great reminder to make sure we check someone when we see them making a joke out of someone's blackness.
It's not funny . And it should always be taken seriously.
As beautiful as Tyre was, he was INSISTENT in saying "I'm ugly" as he went on his rants against women who look like him.
It's almost crazy to me that someone this handsome could legit think that of himself . Like wtf are you looking at in the mirror? but unfortunately I get it. I know why.

Well that's what I wanted to clarify, being urban doesn't equate to being black, pro black, more black than someone else, etc.
The rest of your comment is understandable.

that is correct
Sometimes the most "urban" or "hood" black people carry very anti-black attitudes and beliefs too .
And there are plenty of black people with valley accents who are the most genuinely pro-black people you'd ever meet . Just so happens maybe they actually grew up near the valley and took on the accent . Ndnfnfnf
But it was just ALL the pieces connected in tyre's case - that made me wonder. Not just 1 or 2

it's not unlikely that he felt the same way about himself as he did Black women, but that's not always the case with people like him. To me, those comments came off as fishing for compliments, rather than a genuine disgust with self. Looks like it was one (known) exchange, and with a White bitch on the other side telling him he wasn't, feeding his ego. I bet he loved that lil white attention
Serious question: why does it always seem like the most popular police brutality/homicide situations always seem to include victims with questionable behaviors/backgrounds? I think it's done purposely.

a lot of these men are your average everyday black men and unfortunately self-hatred (and especially hatred towards dark skin black women) runs rampant in the community . It's kind of a huge internal issue that many gorls are trying to fight and tackle.
You don't have to go far to find it.
As far as other mess is concerned like previous police records/"criminal history" etc. you're gonna encounter that once you enter poorer black neighborhoods cuz "run-ins with the law" are almost normalized in that environment.
Especially cops targeting the gorls for bullshit/nonexistent "crimes"
The fact that you are now allowed weed possession in one state, but can go to another and possibly end up with a police record for it ... but can purchase alcohol with no issue in both those states , is beyond my comprehension.
