I have a contractor working on my entry door which requires the door to be open obviously and my neighbor from down the hall decides to say hello to the contractor, make a few seconds of small talk with him and stroll past him to converse with me as I'm relaxing on my couch
Granted I've seen and conversed very briefly with this guy plenty of times before but we are far from buddies .
I'm looking like did this man just walk his ass into my livingroom to chat it up with no clear green light from me to proceed?
Mndnfnfnfnnfnnfnfnnfn :uhh: :uhh:
maybe I'm tripping but I feel that was a bit violation
I was nice tho cuz the contractor is making a shit ton of noise which I'm sure is disturbing everyone on my floor . So he wasn't complaining so I was just polite ...and confused lol
You aren't trippin. :udontlookok: At most, if he saw you through the doorway while talking to the contractor he could have said "good afternoon, [your name]" from there. If he even knew or remembered your name. Strolling in is inappropriate behavior and he out of order
Um, yes, that was rude. Some people have no boundaries.
Ok it's not just me
That's exactly what I think it is
Lack of boundaries
And home training tbh
My grandmother would drag tf out of me if she heard I did some mess like that
Let's not make things comfortable for white people at all. He shouldn't have entered your condo. He should've actually stayed a few steps back from the entrance. I mean shit I'm sure the noise wasn't non-stop, the maintenance man could've turned off supplies for a few minutes to temporarily walk to him.

thats what I would have done
Stood at/slightly away from the entrance and waited for the actual resident to come to the door
And if they didn't come to the door maybe that means they don't feel like talking
An open door isn't an automatic invitation
Fnfnnfnfnf like wtf
Common sense really ain't that common

And as far as noise, people just have to get the fuck over it reasonably. I hear neighbors having sex, the bed squeaking, occasional arguments, maintenance fixes, average noise partying, overweight people walking around...as long as courtesy hours are respected and everything is reasonable and rational, you have to get the fuck over it. Or get your own house.

he wasn't complaining about the noise at all
I think that was more so me just feeling bad that I wad causing so much noise on my floor which is usually very quiet
That work I needed done was gonna get done tho . Fjfjjfjfjjf complaints or not
Any reasonable human being should be able to realize it's just very temporary, unavoidable noise
Some of them are really oblivious. Its a strange sense of entitlement.

I know. I was saying in general because noise was slightly brought up (even though you double confirmed the employees weren't conplaing).
In general, let Shandra walk around her place in peace. Just addressing general shared living issues (apartments, condos, town houses, etc)

yeah
There's def some noise to be expected with closer proximity
Long as it's not unreasonable and at a decent time I don't care . But luckily my neighbors are quiet for the most part
I'll take a lil neighborly noise in the high-rise over having to mow a lawn or worry about mess in a basement any day.

this sounds like something out of a sitcom. you know where the neighbor just opens the door and lets themselves in without knocking lol
not Seinfeld
It seems your neighbor was being passive-aggressive.

i honestly don't feel strongly enough about it to confront him after the mess

And It's not like my door is SWUNG open every day with someone doing work on it so the likelihood of this occurring again is super slim to none .
If this were an ongoing project where I knew my door would have to be open for a week or so I def woulda said something to nip that shit in the bud
Like we need to be clear . Don't be walking up on me in my place
But it was just a moment
like wait .. did this muthafucka just ... :shannonsmissing:

he was actually telling me about handy work likes to do and letting me know if I ever needed him to let him know
His intent didn't seem malicious or shady/passive at all
But I was just sitting there like a) I don't give a fuck about ur hobbies and b) hell no I ain't hiring some man from down the hall to fix anything for me
Fjfjfnfnnfnfnfnfnnfnfnfn
I'll be hiring companies/contractors with searchable reviews and references . But thnx! :uhh:
