Just noticed that it's a different vocal take. :guys: You can hear it in Bran's first verse.

Yeah there are two different versions. She has a "pop" version with a cleaner vocal and less runs and an r&b version that's more true to Brandy. They kept Ray's vocals the same.

Actually to me one sounds like NSN vocals and the other sounds like Full Moon this girl is a chameleon

!!!!

Yeah like if she recorded them during two different eras to match her current vocals

I believe someone said before that "I Know Now" was the same way... that the version that was gonna be on the Diddy gospel album had more of the Full Moon vocal approach but it never released

But why is this version only on her Best Of? :diddraispoot: I have the CD single and the Urban Renewal album and they both have the other, known version.

That's a question for Atlantic. However, a lot of "alternate" versions and mixes of songs by Brandy were utilized for the Best of Brandy compilation, particularly in international markets. An example of this is the "The Boy Is Mine (Darkchild Remix)." I'm assuming this was done to give fans something new and different to look forward to and incent them to purchase the compilation album.

However, unlike "I Know Now" which as someone noted, was recorded during separate eras (NSN and Full Moon), both versions of ADIP were recorded at the same time - just different takes and different vocal stylings. Atlantic used the "R&B" vocal for many of the ADIP remixes, whereas the version featured on Urban Renewal includes the "Pop" vocal.
