Can you see yourself dating someone who's not into music like that?
Once I realize that they're just a casual music listener who wouldn't be able to tell you their favorite albums, I feel so alienated from that person. And I try to be open minded, but at the same time I don't wanna be bored.

I am in this position now, its definitely not ideal but not a deal breaker. There are so many other ways to connect, I have other friends to bond with about music. And y'all are another outlet too actually.

Like he doesn't "get" the "things" about music and that IS frustrating sometimes because ya'll know how descriptive and detail focused I am when it comes to the music I like. Total opposite. Never have been able to bounce off him in that aspect

Yeah even with Mariah, he loves the diva aspect and loves her voice in the generic sense, but he doesn't get the isms and cadences at all.
I don't even bring up Brandy cause if he says something stupid imma read 😂

Yeah, I dont expect them to like everything I like, but they gotta have some kinda taste. Music is my go to. I wake up listening to it, I listen while I work and some nights it puts me to sleep. And I be singing all the time. I dated someone who was into all the shit I was and liked doing the same shit, and that was a dope ass relationship, until he started acting crazy. We just friends now. But at least I have other friends who gets it, so its fine if I date someone who doesnt fully connect.
As long as he's well rounded . That's what's most important to me
One minute we can be talking about current events , work/career goals , family etc
the convos should be somewhat similar to ones I have with my bestie . We literally cover so much in our 3 hour chats .

Everyone has at least one or two favorite songs . Music is very universal in its appeal so even if he's not IMMERSED in it he could relate to a music convo in some way im sure .
there's so much to connect on and talk about outside of music that I wouldn't mind if he's not able to really have whole convos about it .

While he doesn't have the same passion for music the way I do, I can appreciate the commonalities we do share in it such as a lot of our musical tastes in songs and singers
I mean my dad for example doesn't listen to music at all. I'm still questioning if he's my real dad, cause... :uhh:

i just get super weirded out when people say they don't like music or never listen to it. Haven't encountered that alot but that's just weird to me :dead:
I couldn't do it. We don't have to be into the same artists but have your music you fuck with and put me on too and Vice versa
If we had other things in common it wouldn't be a problem. I've never needed another person around to enjoy my music.
