I also loved him since desperate housewives and true blood and he is right.

I don't get the waivers to do things but yet others can't ?

Someone in the comments explained it.  Basically, these are smaller production companies that have agreed to the terms that they the actors are asking for.  The actors union is now trying to use this to say that if smaller production companies have agreed to the terms of their strike to get back to work, then the bigger companies have no excuse since they have deeper pockets and more money to spend.
