Title: Where is the update on Brandy in The Front Room?
Post by: Glenda on September 17, 2023, 03:24:33 AM
I'm excited for the Christmas album and movie and stuff

But I'm ready to be spooked and shook by a ghost story.

Brandy hasn't done a horror movie since 1998.  :stressed:

Anyone have any tea? And don't hold back.

The strikes put a lot of projects on hold but A24 is one of the few production companies complying with SAG and the WGA's requests, so there may be a waiver signed to allow them to put out and promote the film. No one knows anything yet but even the Christmas film was supposed to be out a year ago.

The last IMDB update is that it's in post-production as of 4/2023. I doubt it's coming out this year because they already announced the rest of their movies for the year. Maybe it was always intended for a 2024 release. With a 2024 release first look pic will likely come in December or January with maybe the rollout starting at Sundance or SXSW.

Damn I forgot about the Sag/Aftra strike  :stressed:

Well hopefully we'll hear about Ghan booking more roles soon.

Hopefully more horror movies.  :tistheseas:

When it is released we will probably see similar theater counts & box office numbers that their Talk to Me did this year.
Domestic theater count max was about 2400 theaters & it has grossed almost $70 million WW on a $4.5 million budget.

With her being the lead in 'The Front Room,' horror theatrical releases being even more popular now & A24's staple fans her movie without a doubt might finish its domestic run slightly higher.
2024 is going to be a game changer for her career. As #1 on the call sheet she would be lauded with praise for the box office success.
I just hope she gets a new communications team so she can have a successful 2025 campaign season.
