Nawwww.

That whole album was meant to feel like a throw back to her old school eras. So there was nothing new and innovative about THAT.

And I'm even a Jan and can say this confidently...

I like that album.  I don't understand the hate that album gets from Janet fans

The album feels like all of her eras in one but in a good way, almost like a greatest hits. Could've actually been a double disc with one side being greatest hits and the other the 20YO album.

!!

But I will say it should've been lead with an uptempo as the lead single. Call On Me was a hit but a song like Get It Out Me would've made more noise and that was needed. She had just come from the smooth Damita Jo so 20YO should've been more colorful singles-wise.

I didn't like that album. I tried many times to get into it. Loved that song with Khia though.

20 Y.O. was a good follow up to Damita Jo

I actually used to think this was her weakest album until I recently went through her whole catalogue start to finish and I think "Discipline" might be the weakest.

I agree that Discipline is her weakest. It's not a bad album but some of the songs feel like they could've been for anyone.

Definitely. Janet's music has always been crafted for HER. Jimmy and Terry always GOT her for so long.
