Not promoting the christmas movie & album, rescheduling the GMA performance one day before to dec 22nd...i don't want to speculate but is she dealing with some sort of personal issues? Does anyone have some insights? :ohwow:

I just left seeing the renaissance documentary film and all I could realize is Brandy just doesn't have that hunger. Idk why. We see she has all of the skills her work ethic is just inconsistent and she doesn't seem passionate outside of a studio. Almost a recluse at this point. I wish she would do a theatre tour next year and put her money in It to build her own buzz and fan community back. But she cancels just about as many shows as she actually does at this point
You already have a limited window with holiday albums anyway (like six weeks). A video should've been ready with the single. And there should've at least been more performances.
I'm just glad she gave us feels different.

Tbh i feel like its mental health issues and anxiety. Its hard for her to be consistent especially with interviews, performances etc. Who knows how difficult it was for her to finish this Christmas album...i guess im proud of her for trying even when its hard.

This sounds more like a filming conflict to me. I understand the frustration of not seeing her out and about, performing and promoting this album. But if there's a filming conflict I wouldn't be mad her. The music business isn't what it used to be. If she's getting those movie checks I'd cash in too. I hope and pray all is well with Queen and that she strikes a balance between doing what is best for herself and giving fans some music. I can't ever be over this woman :wub:.

This Christmas album was for the birds, anyhow. I'm just grateful to have got "Christmas Party for Two". I was okay with not promoting her shit and not giving us fans much because the music was always great. NOW we aren't getting much of anything and the music lacked. Brandy is really hard working though, but to me she works harder instead of smarter. Bran also NEVER goes to any events, award shows, premieres...nothing. I guess she is a recluse and dnt fuck with the industry at all lol

That's why I think she should just announcement a retirement. She keeps publicly declaring to us she's going to do something then doesn't do it. So of course it's going to lead to frustration and confusion from fans. We never got the 'Rather Be' video she said was coming during B7, so that means we aren't going to get the music videos she said was coming with this album.

We do not know why the GMA performance was rescheduled but at least it was and she provided an update. I believe she is shooting a movie and that is the reason why we have not seen much promotion for the Christmas album. I think her team should consider hiring a social media manager to focus on developing and putting out content for her when she is unable to do it herself due to her work schedule.

How could she expected more when she hadn't spoke much about it? Brandy has to understand the majority of her fanbase are in their 30s and up, and a lot of them are not hanging on message boards.
It's her job to reach out to them. Which is why she should be performing on the late night shows to catch that parent who still has the tv on after the news goes off. Being profiled on E! News and Entertainment Tonight etc you catch those news outlets on in every breakroom, dentist office, etc.
There's no reason why Brandy has not done Amazon Live during this time. And had ads all over the site as for her older fans doing shopping.

I really love this album, yes I want Brandy to perform more, but the music has been playing for me since day 1.
A few points to consider.
1. Brandy has a big 2024, two movies, Hollywood star, and possibly another album. She may want to be using some of her connections for upcoming projects.
2. She already mentioned in interviews that she doesn't consider this B8, it is JUST something for the fans. So, she obviously was just trying to get something out to make people happy when her Christmas movie was released.
3. It's a Christmas album and Christmas is every year! Lol. Artist perform and promote their Christmas albums and songs for many years. By her releasing this album we now have the potential to hear her singing at Christmas events in the future.
4. Personally, I think her speaking voice has sounded very hoarse all year and she is probably dealing with a medical issue. I hope she is able to rest, relax, and enjoy herself this holiday season.

I know it's beating a dead horse, but a legit communications team would fix all of this. I was on Taraji's IG and she tagged her communications team when she reposted her Elle cover and it's the Lede Company, a big time firm, so it's always odd seeing that Brandy is not operating with top people on her team. We all just want best for her because a legend should only have the top of the line people handling her career and legacy.

Brandy is a legend but she's always operated with family surrounding her to keep her safe from the scary side of the business. She wants to feed her fans without feeding into the greed of the big wheelhouse of entertainment it seems. She does just enough to be seen as complacent to the big bosses but isn't giving up her mental health to work herself into the ground. I am happy to take what we get from Queen and I hope she's having a great holiday season. Her Christmas album is making sure I do.

There are two things here: Mainstream status versus consistency. Fans asking Brandy to have a consistent presentation for her work isn't necessarily hoping that she reaches new peaks in her career.
There are independent artists and even artists from her generation that consistently push their brands and projects, with tours, social media presence, and quality visuals. And they have less backing and budget than she probably does.
Brandy having a marketing team isn't some impossible feat exclusive to mainstream a listers. Having a quality social media manager to maintain her brand cost the bare minimum.
She is clearly just comfortable with the people currently in her circle.

Well in that instance idk. I think Silent could definitely give Brandy more consistency with her brand, if she wanted that.
I think he was attempting to do that when Brandy was going to relaunch as "The Next Brandy" and was vlogging and doing motivational interviews on her YouTube But that was short lived.
To be clear, I meant that if Brandy asked Silent to help her be more visible/social media active he could do it. Now that wouldn't mean we'd get Never Say Never 2.0 but it would be a significant step-up from what she's been serving the past decade lol.
And we know he's had these conversations with Brandy because he's alluded to it several times on this very board. For example, we've all said Brandy should do the Terrell Show, Silent confirmed recently she doesn't want to do it. That's a choice, not a resources issue.
And I'm not even dragging Brandy because it's been this way for so long it's what I expect.

She could be out singing at every major city tree lighting. She could go live decorating her tree while playing her new album, she could do radio interviews from her home. Maybe she is much more of a recluse than we know at the moment.
But it's okay for the fans who stay locked to be disappointed. Our fave dropped a Christmas album that a huge majority of her fan base don't even know about! And that's including the fans that fell off a while back

Next year is going to be interesting because as the years go once hardcore fans are now becoming casuals. So it will be interesting to see how she plans to convince the general public, casuals and hardcore fans to purchase movie tickets while only being seen for group press and no communications team.
Everybody doesn't use social media. And Brandy doesn't post that often where you can guarantee a casual fan would be aware of her 1 or 2 posts about new music.
People learn about music in many ways today. Brandy should be taking advantage of every outlet to maximize her reach.

I believe that accepting this is necessary. Brandy appears to experience ups and downs, and I won't comment on anything I'm not certain about. However, meeting her after Chicago in NYC made something very clear to me about how she perceives herself. Yeah this is the process. The publicist pitches their client for covers and they pitch for a specific month usually the months before and after a project comes out. Like if Vaughn had the connects who would have been securing March covers for since Descendants 3 comes out in April.
For the bigger covers especially for the September - December issues top publicists are pitching months in advance because those are highly sought after.

B/C Brandy will release an album then go right into an acting project...same routine and its annoying. After the flop and backlash of Baby Mama idek why it was still included on B7 when she had all that supposed material. No one expected a lavish video...but I also didn't expect half of the video to be a weird close up inside her mouth with iMovie transitions. I think everyone so far has been pretty respectful with their criticisms.

And this is my problem! There are so many experienced creatives out there who fall under Brandy's budget who would give her QUALITY & innovative work. Her team is not doing the research to identify those creatives... a lot of these alternative R&B artists who are into visuals & aesthetics can take Brandy's budget & give full blown creative roll outs & visuals. She's actually wasting budget on inexperienced professionals with no ROI for her

Yeah, Frank Gatson came up with the concept for Baby Mama. Another concept he ripped off from a 70's film. Derek Blanks just directed it. I actually thought it was pretty good but they edited out the better dance breaks.
But yeah Frank has no creativity. He's always putting Brandy in a warehouse or does some vintage concept. He's 64, he needs to retire.
