Afrodisiac
I love FM & Human for the clarity
Afro for the rasp
Debut. Baby Bran's voice was one of the most beautiful voices.

So true. The mastery of her falsetto she once possessed allowed her to do transitions and to start runs higher, overall giving her an easier access to her upper-range, the ease to freestyle live and have more nuances to her voice.
I'm just happy she got a recording contract this young, so that this tone was captured.

I'm not I just picked my favorite tone and provided reasons. I'm just thankful for the first album.
Even B.Slade stated that nayseyers should listen to her debut album, that's the one he chose as the proof of her talent. Leona lewis tweeted in 2010 : Wow Brandy can saaaaaaaaang! Listening to my old skool play list right now, luvs it.
IT'S BETWEEN HER FIRST ALBUM AND HUMAN FOR ME.
I LIKE THE MORE CLEAR AND POP VOCAL. NSN & CWB WAS A NICE LIL MIXED GIRL VOCAL TOO.
NSN - I mean she could do a pop vocal like Happy, Truthfully but also a more raspy tone on Put that on everything

!!!
But for me her best tone is pre-Full Moon, songs like "Open".
NSN
NSN is like her rawest tone.
It has an edge, but it still pure and crisp, and has those "imperfect" moments that MAKE music have that feeling you can't fake.
Human without a doubt. Her vocals were fucking SUBLIME. Torn Down...she was GIVING it :gorlonfire:
Baby Brandy and Full Moon
See I feel like FM and Human tone was compromised by effects, no matter how slight. NSN has that raw texture
Debut for me because it was a clean vocal.
Yea her debut tone is her best to me. Emotive and raspy, youthful yet powerful... full moon and human are after for me.
Not her having a different tone every era fcvhjhdfh
Afrodisiac hands down!!
The way Brandy voice rides over the beat of Where You Wanna Be is just magical.
:gorlonfire:
Human>>>>>
Or 2//11
It's FM for me, personally.
Honestly her current tone is BEAUTIFUL
I mean it's always beautiful but it's so "lush" I can't think of a better word
God I can't stand mariah. Her directing anyone's singing is just laughable to me
Bgvfghh
She can't even direct ppl to sing the song she wrote?

I know what you mean by that but imo it can be too lush. I like when the tone can slay and you can also enunciate. Xmas album is an example of that not happening.

nnn not too much. She may not be able to DO it, but she knows more than enough technically to coach anyone

so you're including her diction in with tone. Are you just saying when you like her overall voice better?
Debut
NSN
Afrodisiac
so to sum this all up
Lonz was incorrect

I really enjoyed what I have seen from the Masterclass, she is an amazing vocalist and she knows what she's doing
The point of that session was to show people how she directs other vocalists. Brandy was amazing at following directions and they were talking about the smallest details. There was also a scene of Mariah directing musicians, it was impressive to me.

!!!!!!!!!
Enunciation took a bit of a nosedive with the Xmas mess. Part of the reason why I don't really use like THAT.
Human era tone was perfect live.
Listening to 2/11, we def can't sleep on her tone here... she got into different bags throughout the album
The first few tracks alone: Wildest, So Sick, Slower, NSTATL, Without You... the tone on the chorus & bridge of PID, DYK
:gorlonfire:
Fullmoon >>>
Definitely Full Moon but each album she literally changes up her tone deliberately which is insane to me :plzstop:
^^
Thinking about it & you are right she deliberately does change her tones. Such a beast & one of a kind talent. Wonder if she does so based on production & lyrics.
Debut & 2/11
She had a clarity on her first album that can't be duplicated, even tho she has tried. The Whitney inflections were so clear cause her voice was brighter.
2/11 was just a beastly era all around vocally, but her tone was at a peak. Especially live.
I think Brandy tone will only continue to get smokier and hollow (not an insult) with age. If y'all don't like the Christmas tone y'all better strap up cause it's gonna intensify over time.
I personally love the new tone and the way she's working her new voice.
Brandy's tone on her new projects ain't the issue. It's the mixing of the vocals
I knew Brandy could switch up her tone whenever she felt like it - for real, for real - when I heard "Talk to Me" on that Family Business album.
