He aint lied
these people wouldn't even have a seat to sit in here in America without African-Americans fighting to make sure that anyone who is clearly of African descent has equal rights .
But at the same time funky himself is guilty of looking down on African-Americans in many instances and wagging his finger at the community to let us know how ghetto we are and how embarrassed he is of us.
Just cuz he sees a few black folk having a good time . If anything these people he's describing are simply giving off the same condescending anti-Black American energy he does sometimes .
I don't care who you are tbh whether ur black American , African , Caribbean ...a curry , a jose, a mei ling... whatever tf you are....if u got something to say about African—Americans I'm gonna have an issue with that and we are def gonna talk about it
But that def goes double for someone who isn't a Black American themselves and is talking shit
Things can and will get very disrespectful very quick :woohoo:
I have mixed feelings... I think the African gorls are just extremely pretentious and a very proud group of people in general.... I never experienced them as that....
However, I've seen Funky undeniably look down on Black Americans on numerous occasions, So this is kinda comical.
:udontlookok:
**stares in Trinidadian**
It's TRUE. My mother is Jamaican and has always looked down on black Americans.

hun
africans can't STAND us. not all but A LOT. they're like white racists in the way that you might not know it based on a simple interaction, but if you piss them off they true feelings are coming OWT.
This is true from MY experience.
My Trinidadian and Guyanese family members look down on black Americans - the "culture" of black Americans - always quick to call out "Yankee this, Yankee that." There is a separation. But it also confuses me, because they speak ill of them and speak ill of North America, sometimes - but yet they still here - didn't go back home to live. So which one is it? I don't know how my family who moved to the UK instead of the US feels. Curious.
I - when I think about it - separate myself a bit too.
I am black. But I always feel like I'm Caribbean black and feel a slight separation from my black Americans from the south for instance. Culturally. I don't look "down." I just feel like it's different. Just how I was raised feels and seems to be different. But I'm aware that black is black - and we're all together.
Glad Funky brought this up.
These people and generations of their families come from impoverished / third world countries where they probably were at the bottom of the social totem pole, but jump at the opportunity to turn their nose up to Black Americans
Like ...Pipe down. you're not exactly descendants of royalty and it's clear your family came here for a reason.
Sit back and put a straw in your coconut and call it a day . Or whatever it is you do
And this is coming from someone who gets along very well with foreigners. Many of them actually assume I am a foreigner myself - many think I am "from an island".
..even if I tell them I am not.
But open your mouth about black Americans and I promise you there will be no doubt in your mind about who I am once I'm finished with you.

:sup:
honestly i don't put much stock into which of these groups care for us or not
or how they feel, etc.
let them walk around hating and looking down on black americans. while being mistaken for black americans and getting black american treatment in america at the same time.
have tons of fun with that.
they just dont possess the power to put their prejudice into anything tangibly detrimental to our well being.
just watch that mouth around me. thats all . cuz im def not above a lil xenophobia lolz
we can have a lil fun and itll still be love when we're done. at least on my end

Let's be real, there's enough blame to go around.
When I was a kid we (Caribbeans in the UK) used to tease the Nigerian kids.
Nigerians are very proud and some do look down on Americans.
And some Black Americans have this ridiculous mentality that all Africans live in poverty.
There are misconceptions about each group that we've ALL perpetuated at some point or another.

!!!! that part.
And misconceptions of one group about another group are always gonna exist. It's kinda human nature nnn.
Unless it's affecting me or my bag, I pay it all dust tbh.
Some Black Americans def have nasty things to say about African people - completely unprovoked
Mainly those who are ignorant and kinda forget they ultimately come from that continent
Even the little accent funky was doing during this video .. it made me cringe cuz it's once again someone making fun of African-ness
"Funny accents! 🤣🤣🤭 "
I didn't find it necessary to get his point across - especially to viewers of his channel who may be African and have nothing against Black Americans.
He actually provided a perfect example of how these things can go two ways.

.
I haven't experienced a lot of issues with black people who aren't American but I've been aware of tension and prejudices between the two groups since college.
Don't understand the pridefulness of either group, especially those that leave home to come here and continue to live here. African Americans have our own culture but not all of us are the same so stereotyping is wrong either way. Honestly, we want to be connected to our African and Caribbean roots but get shunned when we try to learn or claim them. It's not our fault our history and culture was erased, forgotten, and beat out of us. At the same time non-american blacks seem to pick and choose which parts of the American culture they want to claim. African American people are accepting of other ethnicities and nationalities to our own detriment half the time. Especially people of color. We don't deserve the hate and judgment.
I think there is mutual dislike and prejudice between African Americans, Africans and Caribbeans.
The Jamaicans used to give us Africans hell in London but now we out number them they've gone quiet.
I used to work with this African American guy in Dubai and he was always talking about the crimes and social issues Africans were causing in Minnesota. I used to think you got some nerve. He was sounding very white and ignorant to me.
Black skinned people are a mess :plzstop:
How y'all feel about racism ending and Black unity NEVER happening :dead:
