an acquaintance opened up to me today after I asked what's been wrong with her .. after telling me she's been sick for a while
After making me promise not to tell anyone she admitted to taking ozempic , and says since she took it , she lost 25 lbs in like 1 month but it has sent her body and health into complete turmoil
My heart broke for her cuz I always knew of her expressed insecurities about her appearance ....She said "I wanna be skinny but I don't wanna be skinny this bad "
To me a drug that is strong enough to kinda act as the "magic pill" people have been dreaming of for decades is automatically something not to be played with . what extent of manipulation and trickery on your body has to be produced by this drug in order to achieve this?
I'd say unless there's an immediate medical need for the drug ... cut calories and exercise if u wanna drop some weight . But for many I know that's easier said than done - for a multitude of possible reasons other than "laziness".
To anyone reading this just be careful, and be kind to others. It really broke my heart to see someone I know literally suffering and saying she feels like she's dying sometimes all cuz she wanted to "be skinny".
We'll definitely start hearing more about the long-term effects as time goes on. I've already heard stuff about it paralyzing people's guts.
It also ages you in the face
This 'Zemp era is CRAZY
a friend of mine is a nurse and she told me ozempic actually has mad health benefits outside of just losing weight. the problem is, people aren't taking it properly cuz they thirsty to drop weight at the speed of light or aren't keeping the proper diet, etc with it.
I watched a couple of vids on YouTube of people who started to feel depressed and suicidal. We haven't heard much of the mental effects.
There is a woman who explained she had to run to the bathroom the whole time and had accidents all the time..but convinced herself, as if it's some sort of Ozempic cult, that this was the right medicine for her because she wanted to lose weight. Scary. There are also people who think they can eat whatever they want on Ozempic and even start eating more (they won't lose weight), changing a diet is very important. Ozempic is not an easy fix.

I really can't stand u
Lol it's a diabetes medication and so many people are taking it without having diabetes just bc one of the side effects of the drug is weight loss, so of course there will be some adverse effects for some people.
It's crazy how at one point people who actually needed the medicine couldn't get it bc so many people were using it for weight loss that it was in short supply

Ozempic and Wegovy are basically the same active ingredient, semaglutide. The FDA approved Ozempic for diabetics in 2017. The FDA approved Wegovy for weight loss in 2021. Wegovy was formed to combat the problem and is essentially just higher doses of the semaglutide.

I'm well aware of what ozempic is used for hence why I said it's sad ppl using as a trend for weight loss when it's initially a diabetic drug. I'm aware of the different dosages but we weren't talking out Wegovy were we? :shook:
