today the water supply to my town was cut off because a contractor hit a water pipe....
when it went out, life fucking changed :uhh: :uhh:
every element, from your thirst, to how you will wash your hands, to how you will flush the toilet....to how you will bathe....I was forced to actually worry about these things.
And it became clear that I am so entitled. so used to these things just being there. the water is SUPPOSED to run. its SUPPOSED to splash out when i go to the shower. but it stopped :uhh: :uhh: :uhh: and it's not just the water stopping in an apartment. the entire city was dry for hours.
I got a taste of what it feels like to actually live in a world with no water.
I went to go purchase some near my job and it was all sold out. I love drinking water so I became frantic. I actually got very nervous and anxious. :uhh: :uhh: I had no other option but to buy a juice or soda to quench my thirst for the time being.
I came back home to find the water running again. so it's back to my world of entitlement, back to being privileged enough where running water is standard, not a luxury. and back to me never having to worry about where i will quench my thirst or wash my face, or flush a toilet.
while this is an everyday reality for others.
