andra didn't serve either, tbh. she acted being afraid well but nothing about the character portrayal gave authentic.

this is one instance where the thought-provoking speech shoulda been kept in the drafts and replaced with a simple "thanks for your contributions to the projeect Glenn."
i love Glenn too but i can tell Lee was expecting the gorls to be like "omf yea! das right! fabric! preach Lee!"
a MOMENT of sorts.

Yeah I don't know a Alberta no shade
But Kang still did his thang

In all honesty -- I do know two Albertas. Here in NYC. But it's a rare - at least in my life experiences.
If I didn't know them - I would feel the same way as you do, Af.
But they actually do exist.
The Twitter community loves to stand behind the idea that "Black people are not a monolith." Of course, nothing is, but I agree with Lee. I have known many "Albertas," especially in the South and smaller cities. This is less common in large, diverse cities like NYC. In my experience interracial couples in the large cities like NYC , LA etc tend to both act white. In the South and most of middle America interracial couples are mostly rooted in Black culture, or at least it was in the past. Plus, white people in larger cities tend to have identities more rooted in their ethnicity—like Italian, Polish, etc.—so they don't borrow from others.
I don't think Lee is super far off with this.
i know some albertas too, but they are by no means a staple of the communinity vcccxxx

if he woulda left it at "every Black person knows an Alberta" im 100% sure it woulda been a big difference
A lot of black people def make those jokes about the white women with that signature hairstyle that lets u know they're into black men, etc. bdbdbd
It's def all the extra mess he added on that's getting him cooked a bit

no movie is a movie without some sort of problem to solve.
but u, and everyone else reading what u said, know exactly what u meant by "black women struggling"
as in, what types of "struggle" story lines and visuals come to mind.
so i wont play that game and we can end it here
damn, so in addition to you only being able to point out 2 roles out of the hundreds that he's written, my point STILL kinda stands true bvvvvbbb

By the way 2 characters is not all you could come up with.
Honestly Angela was a hair salon owner and her husband was a sports commentator and former player
Patricia was a successful author and was beefing with her husband over the profits from her book
Alfre Woodard's character in The Family that Preys was a secret millionaire, Sanaa was well off too and worked at the firm with the Cartwright's
Mea in Mea Culpa was another successful lawyer who was taking care of her husband

!!!
Tyler showcases all types of Black people in his story lines.
The hood chicks, the professionals / CEO's
some of his story lines are even ambitious in their representation ..especially in Good Deeds, where a Black man was the CEO of a massive Fortune 500-ish company. That type of story is very rare in America
it's just that the loud, ghetto ones get the most attention ....cuz they're loud and ghetto.

We all know the context of "black woman strugglin" especially as it relates to accusations that are often thrown at Tyler Perry
Saying all he shows Black women dealing with is: Baby daddy drama , on food stamps/drugs , living in the projects, catching AIDS
it's an often recycled talking point used against Tyler . Just be ready to stand behind it once challenged. Don't try to remix it once the going gets tough
