Sad.I was hoping things would improve for her She always seems to be in good spirits.
:'(
Fuck cancer :'(
Terrible. OMG I pray she pulls through. :'(
She's such a beautiful person
Inside and out
I hope she pulls thru
I'm iffy on chemo and radiation etc
I empathize with her
she's always been really big on going the natural route with a lot of things
but :stressed:
my bvy YoNasDa LoneWolf is also fighting cancer
another amazing, genuine woman with a big heart

Sad
From what I've briefly read stage 4 isn't always terminal. Hoping she pulls through.

I didn't know that. Hoping she recovers
Wish her the best and ultimately it's her decision...
But I hate that she keeps rejecting the doctor's advice :-/ (how is everyone ignoring that part?)

how did u come to the conclusion that everyone's ignoring that part
as it's clearly stated in the story in the OP and people in this thread have acknowledged that she's taking the natural route
seems more like u making it a point to boldly underline that part . If that makes sense
she didn't get choose to get cancer
She can however choose how she wants to manage it
So this subtle message of "she's doing it to herself" that you're clearly trying to push, as if she laid a welcome mat at the door of her body for the tumor ...
Because she opted not to get both of her breasts cut off and is holding onto hope based on her personal beliefs
if u wanna say that just say it.

Reading everyone's comments, it felt like no one was acknowledging that this could have been prevented
Sorry if I got that wrong
"The natural route" against cancer just sounds a fool to me :uhh:
She is labeling cancer a toxin and...
:ermm:

she's always been big on watching how she alters/takes away from her body
and letting nature take its course
i remember her saying she refused to cut split ends because she felt she was interfering with her natural state.
sfsfsfsfsff
it makes sense that slicing off two of her breasts was out of the question for her.
i want her to be fine but i realize im not in the position to tell a woman what to do with their body, under any circumstance.
especially when it involves something as seriously drastic as removing body parts.

That's the thing, it's not being managed
But you are right, it's her decision
No argument from me
I wish everyone full autonomy

I instantly thought of Afro when I saw the news

I didn't realize how much this would break me. Confidence is obviously important at any age but especially when you're so young: simple things you don't realize at the time really do mold you into the person you are. Looking back, there was so much that I learned from Ananda and implemented on a daily basis as a child. The way she wore her clothes, the way she spoke, the way she navigated through conversations, the way stood, the way she held herself; even as an adult with the way she decided to handle her diagnosis. So grateful for the icon that she is - the legendary Ananda Lewis. ❤️

So sad to hear this. Watching her on TRL was a big part of my after-school routine growing up.
Queen is imbedded in late 90s/early 2000s pop culture.
RIP
