Love 9th Wonder, I didn't realize Girl was his breakthrough
I love stories like this. I wonder if he means ISRT was for SWV or they were the inspiration for it? Cause they were already broken up by then but it definitely sounds like it could have been on their second album.
Their best album. Perfect from start to finish (except "Bad Habit")

Probably the inspiration for it but I could definitely hear SWV singing it.

From start to finish it's all good songs. Come back to us DC!
Is She the Reason, If, Lose My Breath, Free, Through with Love >>
A classic alber
:stressed:
20 years since they released their BEST album
:stressed:
Definitely their best album and Michelle's greatest moments in the group. Oh, how I miss them together!
I didn't get into DF for years because I thought it was short plus I wanted another Survivor but maturing is realizing how great that album is!
This is the only album of theirs I listen to :scrumptious:
Definitely their BEST album.

You wanted another "Survivor"!? Maybe you are white :ermm:

Yes I had to let it marinate a bit (it sounded more mature to me), I also wanted a Survivor album..but I love it now. I guess when I was a kid that was the moment I started stanning and I wanted that nostalgia.
It also took me a while to get into the debut, there are some really underrated tracks on there.

Another Survivor? :udontlookok:
Don't get me wrong when Survivor first came out I wore it out but that album has aged horribly outside the singles and a few songs if that.
Destiny Fulfilled was a little too short for my liking but that what makes the album perfect it isn't weigh down with fillers like Survivor was tbh. Each song flowed into each other except Bad Habit. That song threw me for a loop. Everything else was perfect; the maturity, the growth, their lyrics, the production, etc.
Their debut album was a bit too mature for them at that age but it does have some good songs on there. Just way beyond their age range.

I agree with you, Survivor didn't age well.
Bad Habit sounded like a Ms Kelly solo track, but it's okay..sometimes it gets stuck in my head, I still enjoy it. DF was cohesive and they really knew what they were doing. I feel like the debut had some good singles and underrated soulful tracks, but they were definitely still searching for their own identity. Second Nature>>>>
TWOTW is my favorite album, no skips.
I used to love this bonus track :dead:  I thought it was unreleased, didn't know it was on the actual Walmart edition
:gorlonfire:
:flamebroiled:
The Writing's On The Wall is overrated imo. I enjoy it. It is a great album but it suffers from uneven songwriting at times and some of the songs sound a bit dated.
Listening to some of these Scott Storch leftovers, I think they could have released another album before DF.
They should use the Let's Do Us song now. Add a Toya and Tavia verse and it would be perfect. I love the SWV interpolation
Nice songs
DF is def DC3's best album. She's The Reason & Love>>>>

Somebody definitely didn't want to see Michelle be great. This should have been a single cause she brought it home for the clubs!!!

i didn't get into this album outside the singles until i was older, i think it was too mature, but it's a really solid project

Bitch, race ain't got shit to do with it. I didn't wanna hear slow songs about falling in love in middle school :uhh:
Cater 2 u and Through with Love :plzstop: :plzstop:
Bow is right about the album. It's true that kids and pre-teens tend to gravitate to poppier songs and uptempos.
Is She The Reason :gorlonfire:
It's time for another album from them imo.
I could use a break from Beyonce's solo efforts tbh

I don't understand what the issue is. They're pushing 50, they need to do this while they still have some youth and energy left

So glad those messy unreleased tracks didn't make the cut
Man, it's crazy to think that Destiny's Child released this album less than a year and a half after Beyoncé dropped Dangerously in Love. Mariah, Rihanna, and Beyoncé really showed everyone that you can secure your legacy early by putting out a lot of projects in quick succession.

I thought I was the ONLY one who never felt like TWOW was all that
get on the bus is their best song of all tome imo. and the twotw era spawned that. so for me, it will always be superior.
then you add in confessions, bills, whered you go, say my name, if you leave, now that shes gone... BITCHHH

The way I look at it is like DC4's best project and DC in general breakout album is TWOTW, DC3s best album is DF
Maturing is realizing that DF is a very solid and cohesive album and the critics at the time didn't grade this properly
Kelly, Michelle and Solange put their heels in this mess
