I'm so proud of her.
I really appreciate how she's doing things on her terms. She's given us so much and as fans and supporters of her work, we are not necessarily allowed access to her 24/7, but this memoir is a perfect way for us to connect more deeply because she's telling her story how she sees fit. This young lady is a legend and I'm proud of her and I'm hopeful we see more of her in 2025.
Maybe this has been her main focus for the past few months. Hopefully we have a new album by then.
She really need to reconnect with her fans and people in general this year before it comes out tho.

There's a reason why GHan acknowledged the "highs" but then immediately focused back on "there are things you DIDNT see" in her post
A memoir like this is kinda designed to dig deeper into intimate moments behind the scenes , struggles , missteps ... and how they also contributed to who she is today.
That's what I'd say is "healing" about something like this.
As GHan said in her post, we know all the positives. The glam, the awards, the tours, the deals. The "highs" , as she describes them.
At this point in her life she wants to show us other sides and be brave enough to dig into it.

Books often get announced when the deal is finalized, before a cover has been chosen.
October is not that far from now, and every book needs at least 9 months of build up before its release.

well that's not how memoirs are promoted. They're always announced way in advance and then you get little excerpts from the book in between & then the promo schedule. This isn't a studio album
Hopefully a new album is tied in with this memoir and she can promote both at the same time.
Anyway... I just hope Brandy is being transparent about her life. I personally am really interested in the last 12 or so where she's become a recluse, her health scares, that period when she was held hostage by her label for 8 years, 2016-2018 era when she was a complete mess etc. like what was all that about?

i think you make a great point but vindication is only possible if the roles she played in these situations actually call for vindication. and i think people need to get comfortable with the possibility that maybe they weren't. but i do think theres a RESPECT that could be earned by keeping it 100%. she's human, we be fucking up, people can relate to that. but if you trynna sugar-coat and side-step, ppl can pick up on that and don't use.
Hopefully Bran tells her story in a way that makes the book a good foundation for a movie. She doesn't need that now, but it would be great down the road.

This has always been my issue! Not hiring the right experts to execute her projects properly. Sooo many talented ppl out there and in budget but she still decides to hire amateurs in the space who happens to be fans. Gerrick has the proper resume so I'm not mad at him being involved

Gerrick is accomplished and I know it'll be professional, but I fear he's too much of a fan so it'll be to yes man and boring.
I hope she discussed her history with her women costars, friends, former friends, and associates. When we hear about her tussling it's usually with women.
It seems like she has a rough time maintaining a core group of women friends and imo that's highly bc of her. I believe if she kept a solid non-using group (sans user Shay) it would prevent her from so many unfavorable situations and boost her confidence.
Keisha kept her together even at a low (accident). When she was rolling with Serena, Niecy, and Kelly they had her on the scene. IMO Brandy being in hiding doesn't help her mentally, so a core group of consistent women friends would always benefit her.
I would like to know what happened with Kelly, Niecy, Serena, and Alexis and does she have regrets especially over Serena. If it's true she stopped being friends with her solely bc of her Selita friendship that's silly. She and Serena go back to their Watts and Carson days so to lose what seemed to be a good friend over that makes no sense.
Especially since Brandy and Selita didn't give friends. It gave at most she saw her occasionally around town or associates. Brandy should have blamed Ryan solely for that since he chose her.
I wished she would have gave unbothered publicly with men. I do wonder if she talked about her role with them. Beggin N Pleadin (she clearly is alluding to hooking up with another man & begging Ryan to forgive her for that) and Say Something (hurt u my bad. said some things i wish I could take back) so I wonder if she expanded on what she did in relationships and situationships.

For years, she has had to deal opinions from people who know nothing about all that she has endured. I hope her memoir will allow everyone to see that she is human. She is not perfect and just like everyone, she has made mistakes and should not be defined by them. I hope it puts to rest all of the negative opinions people have of her. I also hope that it will serve as a bridge for the reconciliation of her friendships with Kelly, Keisha and Shay. She was really close to these women and hopefully through her memoir they will be able to understand what she was going through that may have lead to the rift in their friendship.
