It's crazy how Black women try to fight for respect and support and other Black women work actively to tear away at each other. We have to stop giving these mentally ill people so much shine in the Black Community.

this isn't behavior specific to Black women.
people disagree, beef and compete with other - from all backgrounds. as it's kinda how society is built.
two Black women disagreeing or arguing with one another doesn't negate or minimize ANY work that has been done or that needs to be done to continue to make sure Black women receive the support and respect they deserve as a whole. it's unfortunate to think otherwise.
this "yall black folks dont know how to treat each other" thing is such an increasingly annoying talking point. it's almost like many of us talk like we don't know (or know of) ANY Black people who love and support each other. like these people who are just seemingly OUT for each other represent such an "ALARMINGLY!" huge part of the community.
just wanted to point that out. yall carry on :letsmessfag:

The equivalent of an Azealea Banks does not exist in ANY other community in entertainment. The equivalent of a "Shade Room", Love and Hip Hop or Zeus Network does not exists. Joseline can't even sell her cabaret to Latinos.
The "WE ARE NOT A MONOLITH girls" are an equally annoying talking point! Black people enjoy mess, and its a big issue in our community. And refusing to have those conversations because we think highlighting certain issues are direct reflection of us personally, is a major reason why we do not make progress as a community.

u can highlight certain issues without low key pointing a finger back at Black women, giving a "wat about da black on black crime doe?" argument.
If anything try to have empathy and understanding - especially if you're claiming the women in question are mentally ill.
If they are mentally ill (emphasis on "if" as I am not in the position to diagnose) , realize that their behavior may be out of their control in many instances. And hope that they get treatment and get better .
That's a productive way to frame this - especially considering mental health is generally still a worthwhile conversation in the community.
Casually throwing around unsolicited "mentally ill!" diagnoses as if it's a read/drag of some sort is what I'd call unproductive.

We are going off topic again. It's not about the mentally ill, me diagnosing them or having empathy for their condition. My point is only in regards to the fact that the Black community is very quick to give these people like Azalea Banks or Jaguar Wright such a huge platform to openly harm other black women. The moto has been to protect Black Women, but Tasha K and all these other girls that openly harm Black Women are supported by mostly Black Women.

But if u really care be mindful , as framing these conversations a certain way only adds to existing stigma around the the topic of black mental health by attaching mental illness to behaviors that are seemingly negative and disruptive . ...Without even knowing for a fact if the people in question are mentally ill .

My question is, why is this even a topic? This is not a "beef history". This is a girl who has gone around attacking people unprovoked for over decade. Why is this still news? Why are we still giving her ANY attention?

humans sometimes like to watch/engage in conflict and negativity . This goes back to me saying everything isn't a "black thing "
We have Russia and Ukraine bombing tf out of each other while CNN and other outlets make a quick coin by showing the carnage and mess . Because there's a demand to see it.
Same reason why the National Enquirer made millions by exposing mostly white celeb dramas and conflicts. And also the reason Jerry Springer amassed a fortune off the back of his guests and audience - which were of all races.
What ur getting at is a larger societal question to pose . "Why does society love MESS?"
It's a worthwhile conversation and question
But it's not "why do black people love mess? :uhh: ugh! "

are you serious? shade room is nothing more than a TABLOID. that have been around for ages. the reason there are specifically black tabloid, and networks with MESS is because we have to create our own everything. the white trash tv is on network channels. black people create spaces for ourselves and always have, whether it be good or bad. but please don't pervert that into some narrative that were "the only ones that xyz" its not accurate and it dehumanizes us.
additionally, i would love to know some specific ways you think "enjoying mess" is negatively impacting the black community. let's have the conversation
