I just finished it
and this "plot twist"
My God :omf:
Nope. Not watching anything else with his name attached
Of course not
I can't do it lol
And I like taraji
I recently watched all of beauty in black though ..I can tolerate some of his trash
I don't have time to watch the critically acclaimed stuff let alone the trash he is dumping on folks.
This was one of his best movies in such a long time. I'm so glad I watched but the way I cried my eyes out!!! Storytelling at it's best and I swore I wouldn't support him anymore but this was worth it. Wow! :loose2when:
It honestly started off too "tyler perry" for me. Imma try to finish it because I loke taraji but my god do I hate his films
I'm shockingly seeing mostly positive things...

Tyler makes great/very memorable movies and has a few classics under his belt .
It's his sitcoms/shows for me that I can take or leave
But bitch that film catalog. Don't PLAY wit king
n
:dead:
There's some things that Tyler does in EVERY film he does
He stretches the time by having the characters constantly repeating themselves. Taraji yelled "I'm not coming out until the officer is GONE" so many times cfcggdsesz
The movie was still entertaining though
Boring movie
Why do y'all hate him :uhh:
The movie was great.

The movie was great.
It was predictable, female version of the movie John Q.
I've never seen John Q. :dead:
And also everything doesn't have to be innovative or trailblazing. Idk.

Just finished watching
Loved it. The ending is def a tearjerker
Def get the John Q comparisons / possible inspo
But this certainly had a strong Tyler touch .
He managed to make it hilarious in some parts . That "bomb" had me crying
Like FAME said everything doesn't have to be a new concept. Barely anything is really new. A lot of artistry is literally taking something familiar and adding your touch / style. Tyler did that wonderfully.

but can SOMETHING be
shit
This was different enough from John Q so it wasn't a ripoff.
If someone else wrote the movie it would be excellent because a parent risking their life for their child is something that most people can relate to and pulls at the heart strings. It's just that Tyler needs help.
Like how did Teyana's character just look at the surveillance camera and immediately say "yea looks like it wasn't her fault" bhchfgt
I started laughing within the first 30 minutes everything bad happens to her. :dead:
I am not a huge fan of Tyler P at all, and I have maybe seen about 4 of his tv shows/movies
including STRAW, and I must say this was quite outstanding for him.
Taraji did a great job, and so did Sherri. Had my ass tearing up a bit.

Did she get aids
U know
His usual
OK fine..I might watch it
Just wasn't really in the mood for an intense drama or taraji looking distraught and disheveled the whole time

This is probably the best role she's had that required her to be distraught the entire time.
I hope she wins something for this. I'm still in awe of her performance, and she is one of those actors who
overdoes the role, but she was so in pocket here.

Djdjdjdududud he's never beating the allegations
So it was nothing special at all
Mostly a social and economic justice commentary, which I could appreciate. But very much predictable
I enjoyed Sherri's performance actually
Sherri really surprised me
Her presence >>>
She said she didn't think she'd pull off such a serious role but Tyler knew she could do it

Why were they yelling "Free Janiyah!"
When she wasn't in jail?

Sherri did really well
I watched this morning: good acting, nice budget, and it was entertaining. What more can I say?
