QuoteR&B veteran Tweet has inked a deal with SRG-ILS Group.
She joins a label roster that includes Chaka Khan, Lalah Hathaway, Eric Roberson, Johnny Gill, Keke Palmer and others.
"Everyone at SRG/ILS is very excited about this project, which is the legitimate follow-up to the amazing platinum-selling album Southern Hummingbird. Tweet's musicality and vibe remain unmatched," says Claude Villani, CEO of SRG-ILS Group. "It is a perfect record for people who love real Soul, R&B, and just great music."
Tweet adds, "I'm very excited to partner with the SRG/Virgin Music family on this project. It's long overdue, and my fans have waited a very long time, and I'm finally able to share it with the world. CV, thank you for believing in me, and I look forward to making history together."
Now that she has joined a new label home, the "Oops (Oh My)" singer is gearing up to release her fourth album, The Memoirs of The Southern Hummingbird, this fall.
Ahead of the album's release, Tweet will drop a reimagined version of her 2010 track "Love Again" on Sept. 11. Then, on Sept. 26, she will unleash the official lead single, "Toot-Toot."
The Memoirs of The Southern Hummingbird follows Tweet's 2016 album, Charlene, which was titled after her first name. Released via Entertainment One, the album included her Missy Elliott-assisted "Somebody Else Will" and "Won't Hurt Me."
Charlene marked Tweet's first album in over a decade, following 2005's It's Me Again. The album, which included tracks like "Turn da Lights Off" and "Cab Ride," followed her 2002 debut LP, Southern Hummingbird.
