Title: Exploring Brandy's Human Era
Post by: RobLeeMusic88 on September 16, 2025, 12:30:27 PM

I learned even more than I already knew watching this, love to see Brandy's later albums getting their flowers as well. "HUMAN" has aged so well.

Human era was a hard time for Brandy, and Brandy fans....the album got caught up in a mess it didn't deserve, highly underrated album.....time has vindicated the album tho

I love Justified By Jeury, I love how he takes a deep dive on these artists from their trials to triumphs. I loved when he covered Aaliyah's untimely passing. Very in depth.

Human is an amazing album vocally it's one of her best. I really wished Shattered Heart was the second single or Locked In Love both songs had potential.

I wish Rodney leaned into more of the "Shattered Heart" sound for the whole album

True & Piano Man would've made great singles. I love Locket (Locked In Love) the most from Human.

Brandy was vulnerable when making Human and wanted to use this album as part of her healing process, when it flopped, she viewed it as rejection and was deeply hurt...that explains why she went on a media tour distancing herself from the album(an artist and their work are one, there's no separation)...there's a time for everything, and that time was for spiritual album, it helped so many fans

i understand it has a purpose and i appreciate it now. the older i got the more meaningful it became tbh

i was just way too young and selfish to really care about anything other than what i expected from GHan

Very well done.. polished album. I hated it for one reason. Well 2. She didn't include Freedom and Long Distance was a bad idea for a follow up single. That A cappela song is also  :-/

After The Flood could have replaced Acapella tbh.

And I wish Brandy got Angel by Natasha Bedingfield and Scared of Lonely by Bey. Both were very Brandy-coded.

I appreciate that this album doesn't sound like anything else in her catalogue; and this is when Brandy stated belting again which I loved cause casuals started to really respect Bran as a vocalist.

A cappella should have definitely been an unreleased song for the fans.

It's just not album-worthy to me.

Long Distance is a masculine song if that makes sense. Brandy sounded great but it prob would've been a hit if Bruno released it or another male singer did...

There are select songs on B7 that I appreciated years later, but wish Human I can't get into it... even now  :plzstop:

What bothers me is that they scrapped the songs that would  have made this a "Brandy" album, like Porcelain, Freedom and DrumLife but kept songs that were generic and quite frankly kinda corny.
