I learned even more than I already knew watching this, love to see Brandy's later albums getting their flowers as well. "HUMAN" has aged so well.
Human era was a hard time for Brandy, and Brandy fans....the album got caught up in a mess it didn't deserve, highly underrated album.....time has vindicated the album tho
Terrible album
I love Justified By Jeury, I love how he takes a deep dive on these artists from their trials to triumphs. I loved when he covered Aaliyah's untimely passing. Very in depth.
not my fav era from bran. she sounds good on everything so that to the side, i just didn't care for the music.
Human is an amazing album vocally it's one of her best. I really wished Shattered Heart was the second single or Locked In Love both songs had potential.
I wish Rodney leaned into more of the "Shattered Heart" sound for the whole album
I appreciate the album, but I hate the cover so much.
Camouflage
:stressed:
I loved Human!!! DIdn't really understand the hate it got. She was singing her ass off and we got all those leaks this era. :loose2when:
The gorls that get this album, get it.
Top 3 Brandy albums this century.

Brandy said recently her favorite song from Human is Locked in love, one of my favs too
True & Piano Man would've made great singles. I love Locket (Locked In Love) the most from Human.
Wooooo :flamebroiled:
Shattered Heart is top tier
So many amazing records:
Right Here Departed
Long Distance
A Cappella
True
Fall
Piano Man
& The unreleased from this timeframe>>
took me a while to come to terms with the fact that we werent getting a lot more KNOCK after waiting years :damselindistress:
goddess was givin the gorls spirituality and message songs when i needed me a new "fuck that triflin ass nigga" anthem

Brandy was vulnerable when making Human and wanted to use this album as part of her healing process, when it flopped, she viewed it as rejection and was deeply hurt...that explains why she went on a media tour distancing herself from the album(an artist and their work are one, there's no separation)...there's a time for everything, and that time was for spiritual album, it helped so many fans

i understand it has a purpose and i appreciate it now. the older i got the more meaningful it became tbh
i was just way too young and selfish to really care about anything other than what i expected from GHan

Very well done.. polished album. I hated it for one reason. Well 2. She didn't include Freedom and Long Distance was a bad idea for a follow up single. That A cappela song is also :-/
Right Here >>>>> and did better that a lot of her first singles as a Top 40 Hot 100 hit.
The Definition should've been a follow up to RHD... shit bops

GOD i hate that song. the production during that era for music in general was the PITS
it sounds exactly like one of them godawful neyo songs. all because of you or somethn

really I love it.. it flows really well for me especially the bridge but I respect your opinion.

!!!!!
All of this.
Especially Long Distance being a single.
:disgusted:
After The Flood could have replaced Acapella tbh.
And I wish Brandy got Angel by Natasha Bedingfield and Scared of Lonely by Bey. Both were very Brandy-coded.
Yeah A Cappella is one of her most covered and praised songs on that album by fans and music lovers alike
Quote from: Nine on September 17, 2025, 03:06:15 PMAfter The Flood could have replaced Piano Man tbh.
!!!!!
I appreciate that this album doesn't sound like anything else in her catalogue; and this is when Brandy stated belting again which I loved cause casuals started to really respect Bran as a vocalist.

A cappella should have definitely been an unreleased song for the fans.
It's just not album-worthy to me.

sssssss
Piano Man is actually good though
Acapella on the other hand...
:omgwatshappening:
:scrumptious:
Long Distance is a masculine song if that makes sense. Brandy sounded great but it prob would've been a hit if Bruno released it or another male singer did...

True would've been the perfect follow up to RHD, then maybe Piano Man for the spring.
That 1st and love demo alone and freedom could've been the whole album and I would've been satisfied. Also True..that intro .. so haunting my god
I would've loved for "Who's The Loser Now" & "Believer" to be on this album!
:plzstop:
The Timbaland tracks could've been the new album Epic was tryna have her do right after
Drum Life, Home, & Who's The Loser Now was the perfect singles line up
:gorlonfire:
I have to revisit this album as a whole. I rarely listen to it outside the singles and few other cuts I like. This and B7 I just couldn't get into like that.

There are select songs on B7 that I appreciated years later, but wish Human I can't get into it... even now :plzstop:
What bothers me is that they scrapped the songs that would have made this a "Brandy" album, like Porcelain, Freedom and DrumLife but kept songs that were generic and quite frankly kinda corny.

I appreciated this album then and now. Though, a lot of the songs I liked then, kinda wore off. Notable now are
Camo
Shattered
Human
Acapella
Bow kinda slayed with that Long Distance take .. no shade. That bitch can be so precise sometimes it's chilling.
