I heard about this too.
And this theory kinda ties back to a lot of these "canceled!" decisions being business-driven at the end of the day.
Whether it's ratings or pending mergers, it's not a surprise that something involving MONEY was driving this seemingly easy decision, in addition to the controversy.
But it also speaks to Trump's influence and bully-ish tactics of him and his allies.

i saw someone predict within 5-10 years late night shows will be a thing of the past altogether and although that person was just a random and not an industry expert i actually 100% agree .
just based on everything i researched last night...seems like these networks are willing to keep these late night shows around for whatever remaining coins they can finish SQUEEZING out of them but their days are numbered. and they def aren't in a position to be rocking boats like they're untouchable.

as foundational Black Americans I'm actually surprised so many of us actually believed this "Land of the Free" mess existed up until a couple years ago.
People face consequences and even lose their freedom all the time in this country for who they are and what they believe in. It's always just been a matter of the people in power finding a way to justify it. An "official" reason to throw our Black ass in jail or limit our resources.
Same goes for our workplaces. He was more than likely able to get his show back because he had a host of celebrities support and back him. Sarah McLachlan spoke up and out about this issue and cancel her red-carpet premiere of her docu Lilith Fair: The Mystery Building which is affiliated with Disney and live performances but instead gave a speech.
Plus probably the hit Disney took by canceling his show in the first place played a factor. Sure his ratings aren't the greatest but Disney's financial loss took a greater hit.
Well he's not gonna be on all of the abc stations yet apparently. The ones owned by "Sinclair" are still refusing to show him
