literally was coming to say the same because I heard this story or a similar story from someone that wasnt chilli. Kandi told a story too matter fact. I think boys were pretty disgusting behind the scenes tbh because they really aren't that regarded in the industry atp. And for the kind of success they've had, I think that's a lil weird
I never liked Wanya, still don't.
So many people have similar stories about them.
She didn't lie
She definitely didn't lie but she didn't need to bring them up as an example from 30 years ago, and kinda shaded them like they completely flopped after they stopped working with Babyface. I can understand why he's offended

Yup in the nutshell. After their second album Boyz II Men never reached the same level of success again with their subsequent albums.

they still went platinum on the Evolution album and had hits without Babyface
Their biggest song ever was with Mariah
Then 4 Seasons of Loneliness and On Bended Knee were with Jam and Lewis and both were #1 hit singles
It was not "the end" without Babyface

In all fairness on my end, beyond their second album I don't remember much outside the Mama song that's it. Never really followed or rock with Boyz II Men like that. By that time I was heavily into 112, Dru Hill, etc.
Yeah idk if Boyz II Men needed Babyface. I think they had a monster era that would have been almost impossible to replicate.
Plus, it's not like Babyface and those Yamaha keyboard tunes made it out of 1999 either. He was declining himself.
I think they would have ended up in the same position either way.

You just said "after they stopped working with Babyface". Last time they did something was for the Evolution album and then they flopped downe.
Ofc they had sucess without Babyface, but I guess they were already disliked by their peers around that era. Not to mention their overall music and presentation went obsolete by that time.

actually if we're getting technical like that then they put out "The Color of Love" in 2002 by Babyface and that flopped to hell so no the Evolution was not "the last time they did something with Babyface"
The point is they were able to have success without him and even WITH him they ended up flopping because their sappy ballads went out of style

Tell them that. They were VERY pissed when those subsequent albums didn't smash like the first couple. They didn't just outright fail but each album performed worse until they fell to the wayside

I think u should check babyface's credits. He is probably behind alot of songs u don't know he's behind. Beyonce best thing I never had is an amazing song and I dont think that sounds like "CLASSIC" Babyface at all

I think the album he did with Toni was great. I had it on repeat.
I checked his credits and he fell tf off as soon as the clock struck 12:00 on Jan 1/2000
The only hits he had after the 90s were Most Girls by Stink and Best Mid I Ever Had

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but Brandy & Monica are co-headlining. Kelly Rowland, Coco Jones and Muni Long are special guests meaning they have 30-45 minutes for their set.

I don't believe anything they said in that clip. Boyz II Men are assholes with a huge egos. Mike body slammed Shawn dumb ass. They know not to play with Mike at all.
The "Lisa would never" is what made me really believe Chilli because what? :kii:
They probably didn't know anybody heard what they said when they said it lol. Also Babyface is still friends with them till this day so either he never told them that he was offended by their words or they already squashed their issue
Babyface is still very close with Toni, even did a whole duet album together and Toni sued Laface for a bad contract and won 20 million dollars. So just because they're cool with babyface doesn't mean it isn't true imo
