QuotePatti LaBelle is setting up shop at Primary Wave as part of a deal involving the royalties from her 18-album catalog.
Among the songs included are "If Only You Knew," the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack smash "New Attitude," the Grammy-nominated Michael McDonald duet "On My Own" and "Lady Marmalade," which topped the chart in 1974 and was revitalized by Christina Aguilera, Mya, Pink and Lil' Kim's cover for the 2001 film Moulin Rouge.
The WME-booked LaBelle remains active on the road; after a handful of U.S. shows in November and January, she'll play six gigs later that month in Australia and New Zealand—her first since 1996.
