the girls are quick to do the whole "black women hate the gays!" but a lot of those gay men are the same ones who will cringe at the sight of flamboyant gay men when they cross their path and tell them they're "doing too much"
i remember being in a work setting years ago
and some of coworkers (Black male and female) gathering around to talk about a new employee who was very flamboyant. he carried what appeared to be a purse, wore flashy clothing..makeup, etc. to work. IMO he was fabulous
i was in on the conversation and i politely and tactfully checked them, just saying something to the effect of maybe he's just being himself. i have different ways of expressing myself too.
then they went into this whole thing about "oh but you're not like HIM! you're CLASSY!"
