No clue but I hope she does perform the new single eventually. I know she's on a press tour right now in NYC. ASAP is doing great at R&B radio and it just debuted at Billboard's Adult R&B Airplay at No.22. Hopefully the momentum keeps up.

Mya always felt that way about the whole underrated vs overrated thing. In my honest opinion, I've always felt her father was living vicariously through her since he never truly made it as an established artist himself but I could be reading too much into it because she does have genuine passion for music.
She definitely needs to start performing her newer material regularly. I'm hoping she does follow through with that tour. I think it'll be an engaging and exciting show.

Listening Party: Mýa's Forthcoming 'Retrospect' (https://wnyc.org/story/listening-party-myas-forthcoming-retrospect/)
She had a mini listening party recently on radio.
She pretty much played the singles (Give It To You with the D-Nice intro) with the exception of one track Good to You which is hot btw.
The album title came from her creative director/background dancer Derek Brown.
Every song she started from scratch with the exception of Good to You which was presented to her. She wrote the bridge for it.
The first half of the album is upbeat while latter half is introspective.
Good to You 10:35 timestamp.
Mya has been giving it to me lately from the clips I've been seeing. Inspiring!

First of all, that first statement was in reference to the DMV.
Secondly, I didn't shit talk Kelly. I didn't say anything that the majority of the board didn't agree on. Her set was underwhelming to most of us. I enjoyed her but it was underwhelming nevertheless.
Thirdly, majority of all the R&B girlies are in the same boat at this point in their careers. They're all get older, I'm just glad one of mines is still passionate about music at least.

Yeah it's one of the smaller arenas. This is one of the venues PCD was scheduled to perform at.
Someone's explanation from another board. Make sense.
QuoteFWIW, Mohegan does have a halfhouse setup, although that would still be larger than a typical theater. But I think being a one-off casino show lowers the pressure quite a bit because casinos usually give their high rewards members comp tickets to the shows. She probably doesn't need to "sell" a certain number of tickets so much as she just needs enough rewards members to claim their comped tickets instead of opting to skip the show. (Though if she can sell tickets that would be great!) I just looked at the other shows Mohegan has on their schedule and pretty much everyone's Ticketmaster page was blue, so I don't think Mya is in huge danger of being cut if demand is low.
Mohegan was the only casino venue on PCD's US leg and the date Mya booked happens to be right after the that tour leg would have ended, so my guess is she was able to turn that into a connection that got her one date of her own, and she can use this as a sort of test to see what kind of demand she has in general and book any other venues (and/or team up with another nostalgia act) accordingly. I still think she and Kim would have made a good co-headlining tour, personally.

Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, August 2nd, 2026 at 7:30pm.

A Washington, D.C. native, Mya burst onto the scene in 1998 with her double-platinum, self-titled debut album, Mya, establishing herself as a defining voice in late-'90s and early-2000s R&B and pop. The album introduced major hits including "It's All About Me," "Movin' On," and "My First Night With You," followed by continued success with her sophomore album, Fear of Flying, featuring the signature hit "Case of the Ex." In 2001, Mya reached new heights as part of the all-star collaboration "Lady Marmalade," which topped charts worldwide and earned a Grammy Award.
Mya continued to evolve artistically with her third album, Moodring, highlighted by singles such as "My Love Is Like... Wo" and "Fallen," while expanding her presence in film and television with roles in Chicago, Shall We Dance, and an acclaimed run on Dancing with the Stars. As part of the ensemble cast of Chicago, Mya earned a Screen Actors Guild Award, further cementing her status as a versatile entertainer across music, film, television, and live performance.
In 2008, Mya launched her independent label, Planet 9, becoming a pioneer of artist independence as she wrote, produced, and released a steady stream of projects on her own terms. Her independent catalog includes K.I.S.S., Smoove Jones, T.K.O. (The Knock Out), and her latest studio album, RETROSPECT. Smoove Jones earned a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album, underscoring her continued creative excellence beyond the major-label system.
Beyond music, Mya is a dedicated philanthropist and entrepreneur. She founded The Mya Arts & Tech Foundation to support youth education in the arts and technology and has remained actively involved in causes ranging from breast cancer awareness to animal welfare and global humanitarian efforts. With a career spanning more than two decades, she continues to release new music, tour internationally, and inspire fans with her enduring artistry, versatility, and purpose-driven work.

This was cute.
Mya is on a run. New music to go with a clear new direction of shoring up her legacy.
Making sure she is no longer seen as an after thought. Then securing her that show even after the PCD tour got canceled.
New music to go + legacy crafting stars all around for her and her team
All they need left is to keep everything going & go secure a makeup, major vegan brand, or hair deal (if that is something she would be interested in bc she could be like mons & not be interested in that)
The album is really good
She needs to go on R&B money

Londell is good bc usually in this new era (past 10-15 years) an artist won't keep promoting a month after release. He is going back old school when an artist's team kept their face out there for a minute. I have never seen Mya out this much promoting ina long time

QuoteMýa Signs with WME for Representation (https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/music/music-news/singer-mya-wme-agency-representation-1236624605/)
The veteran singer, who has credits across acting, dancing, producing and more, has signed with the agency for worldwide representation in all areas. The agency will work with Mýa in such areas as music, touring, brand partnerships, film, TV, theater, documentary, licensing, publishing, fashion, wellness, lifestyle and more.
QuoteMya Signs With WME For Worldwide Representation (https://bookingagentinfo.com/news/mya-signs-with-wme-for-worldwide-representation/)

Territory:Worldwide
Grammy Award-winning, SAG Award-winning multi-hyphenate Mya has signed with William Morris Endeavor (WME) under Josh Sanchez for worldwide representation in all areas covering music, touring, Film/TV, theater, publishing, brand partnerships, and more.
The signing lands as Mya releases RETROSPECT, her first full-length studio album in eight years, out now via her Planet 9 imprint in partnership with Virgin Music Group.
The deal adds major agency infrastructure to an artist who has operated as a fully independent act since 2008, with a fall RETROSPECT tour now in the works.
Mya has signed with William Morris Endeavor (WME) for worldwide representation in all areas covering music, touring, Film/TV, theater, publishing, brand partnerships, and more. Josh Sanchez serves as her primary agent. The move brings one of R&B's most decorated and enduring voices into the fold of the world's most powerful talent agency.
The signing arrives on the momentum of RETROSPECT, her ninth studio album released May 15, 2026 through her independent imprint Planet 9 in partnership with Virgin Music Group.
The project, her first full-length in eight years, is a funk, soul, and R&B-drenched record steeped in the sounds of late-'70s and '80s Minneapolis funk, featuring collaborations with Too $hort and 21 Savage. Lead single "A.S.A.P." debuted at No. 22 on Adult R&B Songs, marking her first entry on that chart.
The album follows a career that spans the global No. 1 hit "Lady Marmalade," which earned her a Grammy for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals, and the SAG Award-winning ensemble of Chicago.
Since going independent in 2008, Mya has operated without a major booking agency, releasing projects on her own terms through Planet 9 with full creative control.
WME has been actively building its music roster through 2026, having recently added Robbie Williams and Hunter Flynn to its worldwide roster.
She performed at the 2025 BET Awards as part of the 106 & Park 25th anniversary tribute and was slated as a supporting act for The Pussycat Dolls' PCD Forever North American tour before its cancellation. A headline fall tour in support of RETROSPECT is now on the horizon.
Takeaways
This signing is a full-circle moment. Mya spent nearly two decades proving she didn't need a big agency, building creative ownership, releasing music on her own schedule, and maintaining a fiercely loyal global fanbase without the traditional machinery behind her.
Now, with RETROSPECT generating genuine buzz and chart activity, she's adding WME's global touring infrastructure at exactly the right time. This isn't an artist looking for validation, it's a strategic upgrade timed to a real commercial moment.
The fall tour is the headline story here. With WME's live touring network behind her, expect bigger rooms, festival slots, and international dates that simply weren't accessible without a major agency relationship.
Could this signing open the door to major festival placements and international touring that her independent model previously limited? What does this partnership tell us about how the live business is evolving for legacy R&B artists?
More insight about her deal with WME. Sounds like she's prepping for an arena size tour.

FRONT ROW returns to NMAAM with a one-night-only honor and an intimate live conversation with Black Music Month Soundtrack Marshal, Mýa, known for her multi-platinum R&B hits, including classics like "Case of the Ex" and "Lady Marmalade". Mother of Black Music Month, Dyana Williams, will interview this year's Soul-of-the-90s honoree about her long career and her new album, Retrospect.
Description of Event
QuoteOverview
FRONT ROW at NMAAM positions guests at the center of transformational moments in Black music history through intimate artist encounters.
FRONT ROW w/ Mýa Grammy-Award Winner. Soul of the 90s Honoree. NMAAM BMM 2026 Soundtrack Marshal.
Friday, June 26, 2026 | 7:00 PM doors / 8:00 PM start National Museum of African American Music | 510 Broadway, Nashville, TN
The night BET Awards Weekend lands in Nashville, NMAAM closes Black Music Month 2026 with the Grammy-winning voice behind a generation of R&B. Lady Marmalade. Ghetto Supastar. Case of the Ex. It's All About Me. The catalog is the soundtrack. The artist is in the room.
This is not a concert. It is something rarer.
ABOUT FRONT ROW AT NMAAM
FRONT ROW is the museum's signature artist series, an intimate, in-conversation experience where the audience sits close enough to hear the artist breathe between answers. No stage between the artist and the room. No barrier between the music and the truth of how it got made. Past honorees include Jon Batiste, Michelle Williams, PJ Morton, and The War & Treaty.
FRONT ROW w/ Mýa is the closing chapter of NMAAM's Black Music Month 2026 season, the final marshal moment in a four-marshal family that includes PJ Morton as Grand Marshal, Summer Joy as Emerging Marshal, and Rissi Palmer as Mission Marshal. Mýa joins them as Soundtrack Marshal, recognizing her quarter-century contribution to the soundtrack of contemporary R&B.
The evening is built in three movements: a Soul of the 90s Honor presentation, a moderated conversation with Dyana Williams, and a DJ-led listening celebration that lets the catalog breathe alongside her new album, Retrospect.
