I need to hear those records NOW :gorlonfire:
I remember reading something about Meelah possibly joining Total, but I didn't know they actually recorded an album.

!!!!!!
This was only recently revealed
Whoever wrote and produced the songs needs to go ahead and leak them.
Meelah's voice>>>
Now I wanna hear these songs
That was meelah in her prime.. I know she had them other two pissed
I bet the production was 🔥
There's a YouTube account that has a lot of Timbaland demos, they had one of the Meelah/Total songs...but they removed it.
Meelah had so many shots that didn't quite work out. It sucks cause her voice is insane.
not them bringing in meelah to sing queens under the table. they played

Queen sings downe
I remember how we used to go up for this video
Nawwwwww
I LOVE Total and their debut is perfection, but vocally Meelah does NOT fit. Them Total girls weren't really vocalists. Meelah is. It woulda been very odd
And because meelah is a vocalist that would've made their music even BETTER because say what u want about total but they definitely made good music. Pam isn't some SANGA but she can sing and has a great tone. Everyone doesn't need to sing like whitney to be amazing UGH :dead:

I've never seen this SING. This is exactly what I mean. Macy sounds good too and she's not a whitney style singer
Speaking of Pam, I wandered on this a couple weeks ago

Still out here looking butch and making music. Good for her

So I think I figured out the time line.
Pootie Tangin ( :dead: ) came out in 2001, without Meelah. Meelah was working with Faith at the time - she's in the video edit of G Dep's "Everyday" - also released in 2001. I think the plan was for Meelah to sign to Faith's production company but while they were figuring that out Total were having their issues and they offered Meelah a spot since she was already "around" BadBoy and could lead a girl group.

Yeah that sounds about right.
Then Irish and Misha swallowed their pride and put their ego to the side after things didn't work out with the new member and nobody was checking for 702 without Meelah.
And at the same time, Total couldn't get their shit together for whatever reason, so whatever album they was working on got shelf, leaving the door open for Puff to find/search another girl group enters Dream, 4 white girls from California that were young and marketable to pop audiences.

! Even though I don't think Total would have ever had the Pop success Dream did, it's annoying to learn they actually had more music but their egos ruined it :/

I agree.
I'm not convinced adding Meelah would have been good for Total either. Vocally it would have elevated them yes, but 90s girl groups were special cause they each had a strong aesthetic too.
Meelah didn't give that hood/ghetto fab look or have the NY edge to her personality.

She definitely didn't.
702 were young, fun, and energetic with a bit of street edge but with crossover pop appeal something Total never had at all. Nothing about Total was for lack of words "bubblegum pop." Not saying 702 were but you've never hear Total sing a song like "All I Want." Plus 702 had career opportunies opened to them once Sonja stepped in as their manager, something else Total lacked as well.
702 and Total weren't different enough for Meelah to not fit into Total imo. I think that could've worked and tbh I love the thought of her leaving those sisters and shitting in their faces with another group. And tbh I would love to her Meelah in a more GROWN UP sound, which is what I think Total had, although 702 did kinda grow up on "STAR". We havent seen something like that in forever and I just think that would've been so dope. Johnny Gill stepping into New Edition type shit. I wanna see another LSG, TGT type of thing too. It's not highly publicized but Syleena Johnson, Carl Thomas, and Dave Hollister have created a group. Its based on all of them being from Chicago (eventho Carl is really from Aurora 😒)
And Kima was LITERALLY the throw away girl in Total. Liked served no damn purpose

I heard about that in regards to your last statement. I thought Donell Jones was a part of it too?

nah, that wasn't a part of me thought. she might be a higher level vocalist but that doesn't mean the total girl should be downplayed imo.

this, but also i don't like the idea of meelah in total vocally either. her voice brings a different vibe that i don't feel like meshed with total's sound/vibe. meelah sings down but we ain't need all on trippin or can't you see vccx

sss
basically meelah wasn't dyke enough to be in Total.
ccxv at all
:unbothered:
I don't think this we would have worked. Her voice is too distinct and the sound of 702.
Wait Pam's tone and meelah's voice wouldn't blend perfectly? Yall saying any ol thing :plzstop:
I can hear them SOUNDING amazing together. I could see the image thing before the sound. I bet the sound was :gorlonfire:
Furthermore, we literally have Pam telling us in the video that the records they created were heat but alright :omf:

if she didn't do too much, i could actually hear that too now that i simmer on it
Since both 702 and Total are now missing members it wouldn't be too late for them to band together now
add Shamari and Brandi from Blaque too and do another "Encore" show on BET

Because Total definitely needs a lead singer. I saw them a couple years ago and :uhh:
I agree with the Meelah timeline and outside of G Dep's Everyday she was in Faith's You Gets No Love video too.
I always thought Meelah was positioning herself as a solo artist b/c of the Faith relationship and her being featured on Missy's Take Away. But I can't hear her with the rest of the Total (Kima and Keisha). I wish we had a demo or something to reference.
Also, I had no clue Total was supposed to drop a new project in '01 b/c I thought they disbanded after Kima, Keisha and Pam album and that's why Diddy originally ventured into signing Dream
shamari belongs on tv but i truly don't care what anyone says, blaque got another album in them
