I saw this on my Twitter timeline. Possibly she's responding to a fan.
Critics never liked her and I can see why, she doesn't write her own songs, has never produced anything, and the lyrics and production in her songs are always one or two step behind the current paradigms.
But in the case of the grammys/yt awards, I believe ghetto/hood female R&B singers get tossed aside just because of their upbringing/public persona. Happened to Monica, Faith, the Xscape/SWV girls, Keyshia, all of whom have never won a single grammy or solo grammy (in the case of Mons and Faith).

but I think the difference is there was a time were Brandy was very widely celebrated in this industry and even when she wasn't their was like a pocket of the industry that REALLY respected her and cited her as someone they looked up to. Many like to play on Mons career but she did very well through several eras on billboard and radio.
Monica needs to start bragging on her career more because many do not realize how well she has done.
Her husband should be angling for that billboard lifetime award for their 2027 show. Mons has hit after hit and a #1 album billboard owes her that lifetime achievement award.
Black award shows back then were trash because they play favorites like the whites and many like Mons, Keyshia (she should have cleaned up off of Love alone), Fanny, and Brandy should have been loaded up on several of them awards. A lot of The R&B girls couldn't get anything when Whitney, Mariah, Janet, Toni, Mary and Brandy were getting EVERYTHING. Then if it was a group it was TLC, Destiny's Child, and add on some awards seen gender specific so you have Usher, Boyz II Men, Michael, Stevie, R Kelly etc in there too
