:ohwow:
b&p was a cute buzz...
should brandy move on to the next single? i just remember "put it down" and even right here departed doing way better on the charts when they debuted.
:receipts:
i would say, oh! maybe she needs to perform it a bit for promo, but i just feel like im ready for the real single even though she maintains that this is the
single... :stressed:
I don't think it will make a big difference because it seems like the distribution is where she needs to improve..
She should definitely keep the momentum going
I.E another song or promo for B&P
Most haven't heard the song yet so some performances and a video would be great.
i think its time to move on to the next song.. this got ppl talking now slay us with something even better with a video song and itunes lank in the same day none of this rihanna drop a song and video 5 months later
She needs to put out A LOT more music.
With "RH(D)" & "Put It Down", she had a major label backing her and paying for everything.
B&P did well on iTunes for the circumstances. She needs to put together an EP with 5 REALLY GOOD songs of that vein.
Dead at move on. Move on from what? This has potential to be one of her biggest hits in years. They HAVE to push this one.

im just judging by queen's track record tbh.
it might be time to move on to some new mess if she's not going to put in the work to promote.

!!
I'm honestly not understanding the plan here. There are no shows booked, no video being shot, nothing. Sending a song to iTunes and doing vague interviews won't push a record.

i mean they would have to actually push it .. it will be 2 months next tuesday that the song has been out and there has been no push yet..
im hoping that it will come as soon as zoe finale is over a video will drop
if they aren't gonna push it, yes
I think she needs to stay on B&P
she's independent so she hasn't reached ppl like she could with a major label
it wouldn't hurt to drop the EP though

There's not much more she can do with this being independent.
If she wanted to do a video she should have had it ready BEFORE the song leaked.
B&P video on the finale of Zoe Ever After
Days following; performances on TV
I wouldn't compare it to PID or RHD because its not that kind of single. She's not focused on a chart
Im sure they'll drop the video after the Zo? finale and then drop more music. this era is all about the music
There is no point to release an EP if she isn't going to promote it. There are so much she could be doing right now. She could have 4 live shows in New York, Los Angeles, DC and New Orleans. Link up with Radio stations doing in-person Q&As.
She should promote the one she released

I like this very very much. 4 shows are perfect, no need to a full tour now, just a few shows to let the machine rolling, and meeting a few radio stations those days would be PERFECT.
Just add 2-3 tv important tv performances, and call it a day for this song.
no one promotes EPs like that anyway :dead: would be nice though. i dont think she's doing an EP anymore lol
and PID took like 6 months to take off btw. unfortunate, but yea
this new sound is about to rip me to shreds. i cant wait to hear what they're doing today
she ain't mentioned no EP in forever.. And she shouldn't. It's time for a damns album
She should perform "Beggin & Peddin" on a late show and go on a radio promo tour.
Release another song around April.

exactly an EP is like a mixtape
just free music for the fans and to generate buzz
:bvy: :bvy: Yall really going up for the beggin and pleadin.......
I dont know anybody outside of this board that going up for the song itself..
the vocal of course
"bran doing that good sangin"
" didn know she could SANG like this"
"oooo she sound like Fanny"
but dew dew... release and promote away, see what happens. :damselindistress:
I seriously doubt this is the first ALBUM single.
I think that's when they will go into promo mode.
d
Do y'all not realize it cost to do all of these things?
Okay?! There are a lot of artists that invest in their careers without the help of a label.

agreed.
That would be my approach: 1 song each three months. The longer the wait, the faster people loose interest.
3 months is more than enough, to release a song, video, some tv performances and some airplay. No need to spend 5 months on just one song, thats a waste of time for any artist.
Didn't she say she dropped B&P on a whim? They had no plan for that song, Ghan just popped it online after ZEA and people ate it up. If that hadn't happened we probably would have never heard the song :dead:
I kind of agree with some of y'all in that I don't feel that B&P is the true first single off the new album. The way she's being vague, and calling it a "movement" makes me think she hesitant to commit it to the new material. She did the song 2 years ago.
In any case it got her name back out there and we know she's working. I just really hope it's true when she said she wants to work with Rodney and Timbo again. I NEED new DarkGhan in my life
:stressed:
Beggin & Pleddin' has a lot potential to be a hit so I hope she don't give up on it just yet.
She needs more than one song out.
Yes. But only because I am being greedy and want another song NOW lol

It didn't leak. She put it on Soundcloud herself.
I don't even care about chart positions at this point (neither does Ghan). Just give me the music, videos, late night appearances and a tour and I'm happy. Commercial success is just the possible icing on the cake.

The song was no intended to be anymore than a random self leak for the starz.
I'm sure plans are being made and booked to promote the song now. No comparison to RHD or PID. They were backed by majors.
The release was spontaneous but she has to make smart business decisions for this indie thing to be effective. There are still people that haven't heard it. No need to move on
The world is so QUICK these days. Definitely should drop some new fire and promote promote promote from the jump. BP was good buzz though.
I never liked the idea of a EP anyway tbh. For any artist that isnt starting out.
and on the subject of the OP. She needs to release a lyric video and then a visual for B&P.
Strike while the iron is hot or move on to the next.
I feel like B&P is a rea cute buzz mess

r u saying Brandy is poor
The song needs radio spins. It's not gonna go anywhere until it is heard by more people and releasing another song won't make any difference. Airplay is important. Even if it's just Urban AC for now; the song needs to get an add date. I say don't move on yet. She is still recording and it's best to keep pushing B&P and then wait for the perfect 2nd single. This is where Brandy normally drops the ball and this time around, if we get a mediocre 2nd single selection, I'm gonna be pissed.

Bran herself said that she doesn't want her music to be heard by few but by many. B&P hasn't reached a wide audience yet. And tbh, it has the potential to be nominated for a Grammy in comparison to all her singles since Full Moon. The song can still get more exposure.
A lot of non Brandy fans seem to like the song and the critics are praising downe. What is Myron talking about
Idk.. I'm kind of irritated.. I feel like she's wasting a really good song.. If she doesn't have everything ready to put out a new song and effectively push it... I don't think it's smart to just waste another one

the song... or the vocal.
big difference.
she has so many missed opportunities its disappointing.
he should've had that EP ready to go with all the press she was getting from B&P
now, the dust has settled and she'll move on...
I 100% agree that putting songs out there without any plan or push is a big waste. There has to be a strong plan behind each song, if not, they wont have any real impact.
The thing with "B&P" is that is was supposed to be a gift to the fans. They didn't expect it to take off the way it did. So I can understand things not being in place, but I hope they took this as a learning opportunity so they are ready next time.
No she needs 8 months per single with atrong push

I don't think Bran nor anyone in her camp knew the song would get the response it did. I think it caught everyone by surprise, including US. So I can see why they didn't necessarily have everything ready to go before they released it. I mean the fact that she put it on itunes days after she released it goes to show. I think they're not realizing what it is and are trying to catch on while the traction is still there...
and ya know what...sometimes that's the way it is. The next single though should definitely be more prepared
