1. Do You Know What You Have Here (this had potential to be even bigger than PID)
2. When You Touch Me (should've been 3rd single - it could've DEFINED this era)
3. I Thought (would've been a pop radio SMASH)
4. Nodding Off - I argue this all the time... should've been lead single. I feel like it would've been a great continuation to What About Us - it feels familiar but fresh, it's catchy, it's sexy but still feels like "Brandy", and it captures the sound of where the album was going. TAOL is a GREAT song, just not a great opening single for this album.
5. Slower - urban radio would've ate this up.
But Do You Know will always be my biggest regret. PID was a great reintroduction... and DYK wouldve solidified her comeback moment.
:overit:
Who chooses her singles? Is she responsible for these choices?
Too many to mention

well name TWO
I don't think I would've changed anything with her first two eras...
ANY song on NSN could've been a bit smash. Too many hits
Maybe just a video for Angel in Disguise.
Afrodisiac:
1. Nodding Off
2. Talk About Our Love
3. WIS2U w/ Usher (should've been an official release with video)
4. Where You Wanna Be
5. Necessary
Human:
The Definition
Piano man
Shattered heart
Fall
1st&Love
Camouflage
True
Warm it up with Love
Two Eleven:
2nd Single - So Sick / No Such Thing As Too Late
3rd Single - Without You / Hardly Breathing
4th Single - Let Me Go / Do You Know What You Have
Human:
2nd Single - True
3rd Single - Torn Down (Country would've ate this up)
4th Single - Piano Man / 1st & Love
Full Moon:
3rd Single - I Thought
4th Single - When You Touch Me
Afrodisiac:
3rd Single - Where You Wanna Be
4th Single - I Tried / Focus
I really wanted How I Feel to be a single too
Yes, Who Is She 2 U with Usher was such a wasted opportunity :disgusted:
definitely nodding off and learn the hard way. my all-time favorite brandy messes
She could release Freedom right now with a video just of what she's been through recently and what's going on in the world and it would be well received. Also:
One Thing
Cigarettes
Quote from: The definition on July 28, 2026, 12:14:44 PMToo many to mention
WAY too many
But the way w/e label she was signed to at the time released WD over DYK was criminal.
Not one thing and cigarettes. :dead:

Say Something and Rather Be were hits waiting. Rather Be is basic to me but it would fit for quiet storm and the 50+ women audience.
Say Something I remember had the most views on the YouTube audio out of all the b7 songs. Another song that would have added women to her fanbase. She comes in in fight mode then goes back into pleading to Ryan her case why he should want her then goes in and out of fight mode to soft..then ends softly
Women would have been hooked on the vocal variety off that alone
Both are pick me songs but would have done well with videos not done by Frank Gaston. Say something is very rock in its original form. A live vocal with an electric guitar would have made it go off.
WYTM - it was her unbreak my heart in waiting so would have did crazy #s. A Chris Robinson video treatment would have had her sitting for months at #1
Angel in Disguise - it was a hit at radio even though it wasn't a single. Callers would call to request it because the haunted vocals and ad libs alone. That is why it was a hit in the streets.
This is why I will never see Sylvia Rhone as a good exec. How you have that hit and sit on it..Brandy's genius self and them haunted vocals is why it was highly requested throughout the country on radio
Who is She 2 U ft/ Usher was the big miss to me.
NSN:
+ Angel In Disguise (video) directed by Hype
+ Tomorrow, LTHW, or Happy
FM:
+ WYTM (3rd single instead of He Is)
+ Nothing
+ Love Wouldn't Count Me Out or It's Not Worth It
Afrodisiac:
+ I Tried
+ WYWB or Focus
+ Come As U Are (feat. 50 or Lloyd Banks verse)
+ Say You Will
Human:
+ The Definition or Camouflage (2nd instead of Long Distance)
+ Shattered Heart
+ Acapella
Two Eleven:
+ DYK
+ Slower
b7:
+ Love Again (video)
+ Rather Be (instead of Baby Moms)
+ Lucid Dreams or Say Something
From a consistent level across most fans, seems like her greatest missed opps were a video for Angel In Disguise, WYTM for FM, I Tried for Afro, Do You Know (and as of late Slower) for 2/11, Rather Be for b7
Everything else is personal preference
Camouflage AND Fall for Human
I forgot about Nothing. :dead:
Full Moon had hits for YEARS too!!
In Orlando on 102 Jamz, they used to play the FUCK outta When You Touch Me and Like This. More than the singles.

I listen to camouflage like it's new. That was definitely a missed opportunity. Don't even get me started on slower. I tried from Afrodisiac should've been a single and Say you will would've been a great album closer or fall single
oh, i forgot beggin & pleadin. it deserved way tf more

Camouflage just sounds like a hit

I remember Brandy talking about this song in an interview and basically saying the song wasn't good. Meanwhile I loved this song, even Meghan Rochell's version

If this is true, Brandy played
I believe it. I'm good has Brandy written all over out........but yo be fair, alot of Rodneys music did back then
Sidenote Brandi (blaque) was fucking gorgeous. She deserved a lil MORE
Quote from: Vonc2002 on July 30, 2026, 08:30:38 AMSidenote Brandi (blaque) was fucking gorgeous. She deserved a lil MORE
And she still looks fine a too.
She sounded so good in that Cadillac sessions thing.
NSN and debut had perfect singles. I might have added "Sunny Day" or "Always On My Mind", which could have been a nice little hit to wrap up the debut era. For NSN mayyyybe she could have done a video for and released "Happy". But her stint in Doube Platinum, where she performed the song, is sufficient to me. Now let us get into the nitty gritty, those were the singles I would have chosen from each album:
FM:
4th single: When You Touch Me
5th double single: Nothing/I Thought
Afrodisiac:
1st single: Afrodisiac
2nd single: Who Is She 2 U (duet with Usher)
3rd single: Sirens (feat. Timbaland)
4th single: Talk About Our Love (feat. Kanye West)
5th single: Necessary
Human
1st single: Fall
2nd single: Right Here (Departed)
3rd single: Warm It Up (With Love)
4th single: Human
Two Eleven
1st single: Put It Down
2nd single: Do You Know What You Have?
3rd single: Wish Your Love Away
4th single: Slower
5th single: What You Need
B7
1st single: Love Again (with Daniel Caesar)
2nd single: Rather B
3rd single: No Tomorrow
4th single: Borderline
5th single: Say Something
:heyddy:

What pisses me off a little bit is that she missed out on some Darkchild hits he had from '03-'07... Blaque, DC3, Keyshia Cole, MJB, Shareefa, etc. which essentially would've been good material and visibility she needed during that time

A remix of come as you are with 50 would have killed. I was thinking a few months ago I could hear her on Olivia's part on candy shop. I know that song goes against her image but man Brandy could have used some rap feats until she figured things out.
She had 50s manager after Afro why no 50 song

Yeah I agree. 50 had the same sound for Just A Lil Bit and Candy Shop so he would've fit well with the song and was still massive at the time
