Title: Why/How is Drum Life a hit in South Africa?

Mk, so I'm retired from the forum (I know y'all miss me lols) but I'm visiting Cape Town and the dj played Drum Life - and everyone knows the lyrics?!?

But it seems like it's been that way since close to the time it leaked/was released. I know someone mentioned it on the forum back then and posted charts and stuff. It was wild...but I don't remember exactly why. I guess it's a combination of the beat and the cultural drum reference in the lyrics

That makes sense. It's not surprising to me bc the song really has a great sound for a single, just astounding bc it was never released.
