,,Latenight" and "Bulletproof" are so fucking good.
:loose2when: :gorlonfire:
Well alright, Princess!
I'm so glad she didn't rush cause the first few songs were not it jnff
Princess needed time to work on her sound. I like that song that was posted couple weeks back.
Oh and this album title SLAYS.
Chileeee....nvm
I admire her tenacity. She's determined to be something because Ray and Brandy had such massive success.
I didn't realize this was her debut album. I thought it was an EP.

I did too....the promo, creative direction and lead up to it just feels so flat and lazy. I thought this was a little ep mess for some ying yang round the house

Yeah it's no shade but the rollout has definitely been giving "here's some songs I did, hope you like em hee hee" 😭
I'm kinda loving Sy'rai's personality she seems fun and relatable
Yall, this isn't expected to be a big budget project
She was on Angela Yee's radio show gushing about how much she loves Natalie Nunn and how much she wants to be on Baddies nnjdjdjdj
:plzstop:

Brandy, Ray J, Sy'Rai... the entire family needs their ass beat
She is perfect for Baddies Gone Wild! :plzstop:
She does give a bit of Leandra :kii: :dead:

To be clear, I wouldn't expect it to be "big budget." The approach just feels kind of low-effort. They moved on from the first single pretty fast, the second single didn't really get much of a push, and I haven't seen any performances. I don't expect big-budget videos or even a tour. It just hasn't felt like "I'm releasing my debut album!" It's felt more like "here are some songs I did," which is why I thought she was putting out an EP. I do like that she's doing this press run leading up to the release date though.
Awww 'grats

It's just lacking direction, she needs a stylist, weak singles with no push....nothing memorable but whatever I'm happy she gets to release a project after all this time
"Bullseye" is a cool song but no one knows she she is dropping a new album. She independent or something? I think Brand would use all her resources to push her out.
I don't think Sy Rai will ever be a big artist and definitely not the level of Brandy
She looks identical to Wille Ray Jr. Congrats to her.
But damn Black artists & ones yet born are really fckd. The magazine era dying so Johnson publishing being over & radio era be void of Black ppl & radio overall being irrelevant really means none of them will get a lil burn. 80s & 90s Sy'Rai would have been perched on Right On, Word Up, Jet, and Ebony, Hype Hair. So she would have been able to make some noise.
The album title is super cute.

Which equals money. We love Princess, but we only know of this because of her family tree. There are plenty of indie artists that are out there releasing some amazing shit but we don't know a thing about them. We should be grateful Syrai has a one up on those types of struggling artists...

Possibly but it's different types of ways to get creative and promote...the team is just never right. You also don't have to have a major budget to get a cult following if the music is good....look at Cleo Sol....semi-underground and no promotion but she's releasing amazing music. I also think Ray-J needed to have her on streaming to really get introduced to that crowd

She must know how to fight. But nah that is so beneath her.
Guys stay on code please. This is Goddess'Rai we are discussing. Keep it real cute or keep it tf moving.
:sobusyjetsetter: :uhh:
Princess if you are reading this, don't mind these ugly delusional ass f*gs ok? They are dumb haters. Congrats on your debut.
I love the album cover too and the fact that she has developed her own little run style, like she really has come into her own.
Syrai will have a very successful career in the industry. She is incredibly talented—she can sing and act. Also, her project is an EP, not her debut album. I actually like that her team is taking the approach of treating her like a new, upcoming artist, which she is. It would be easy for them to rely solely on her mother's connections, but then people may never take her seriously. She wants to make a name for herself and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I'm sure she'll do more promotion once her project is officially released
Swimming Pools :flamebroiled:
Half way through and I like everything I'm hearing. Good production, Sy'rai sounds so pretty and she's doing some nice runs and harmonies. I just need some bridges and vocal climaxes
But hearing her sing about sex
:uhh: so gross
This is really solid!
Early on, I love the spacey and dark full moon influence
From Paragon forward, she definitely made stylistic choices and established somewhat of an identity. The music is soulful with retro and dance influences.. I hear some house-funk too. Love hearing the highs and lows of her range and some maturity in her tone and the lyrics
Cold war is basically acapella and very pleasing. I see a lot of promise in her taking obvious cues and influence from her mom and being creative with it
These songs short af tho lol
I agree this is really solid and she def found a new groove with Paragon onward...We Already Knew That is lashing me and Mind Ya Business is my shit she needs to make it a single
He keep checkin fa meee
It's expected I be
Upset if I lost the Top Bitch
Can't name one better than meh
I mean
:justabit:
I need her voice to mature a bit more though and for her to really connect to what she is singing about
