The timing just feels right. Brandy has reached iconic status, she's beloved by fans and the industry, and her influence is all over both her peers and a newer generation of vocalists. At this point, a Tiny Desk just makes sense.
I know it might be a long shot because Brandy is such a perfectionist, but ironically, Tiny Desk is the perfect place to not be perfect. It's intimate, raw, and all about musicianship, personality, and connection. I'd love to hear her loosen up, play with the arrangements, be vulnerable, and just let the vocals and emotions happen in the moment.
And yes, I think it would also hush a lot of the conversation around prerecorded vocals. Not because Brandy has anything to prove, but because Tiny Desk would give people the opportunity to hear her gift in its purest form: Brandy, a mic, some great musicians and background vocalists, and her catalog.
I really hope her team gets in her ear about doing one because I can't imagine Tiny Desk not jumping at the opportunity to have her.
Do y'all think she'd ever actually do it?
Nope after that last appearance no way unless she's more prepared
She wont
She was almost shittin' bricks when she was on there as a feature
so idk how she would do being the main event. I have a feeling she would be the
first artist on that platform to have a backing track. :dead:

I hear you but that performance was almost a decade ago at this point. She seems a lot more confident onstage now after touring and her recent performances. She might be more open to it today than she would've been back then.
The real hurdle IMO would be getting comfortable with the fact that she'd be required to be completely exposed vocally. No hiding behind production, just her, the live band, and her background singers. But that's exactly why I think it could be so good for her.
If she trained like she did during her Broadway run it could be achievable and to have June's Diary on the backgrounds as that would be more of an appropriate platform for them to get their shine... but she should do it to shut ppl up from the lipping convos but she won't...
Plus no disrespect she seems a little off lately, I can't put my finger on it.... So I'd rather wait until she's 100% again and confident to do it
She don't need to do shiiitttt until she releases another album....no use in going on there and you don't have nothing to promote...plus that voice ain't 100% at the moment

I think that's the issue. She won't allow it.
The Disney performance when she was on stage with all the other singers who were singing live, she looked terrified.
I really don't understand it. But her memoir revealed that she really doesn't like the sound of her own voice unless it's supported by stacks and background vocals behind it.
I wish Queen would
I'd be VERY surprised if she did Tiny Desk

Wait...whats wrong with her voice?

But she was singing live right?
She definitely does !
