I do like Celine but I find it kind of ridiculous how the press has been praising her for this grand return of her vocals, even she herself makes these shocked faces when she hits the highest notes in My Heart will go on and All by myself etc. However all of those moments and most of the concerts in general are prerecorded vocals. She put in some botched notes too to make it seem more believable.
It's nothing new for Celine, but this whole she recovered from her sickness and can sing again feels so deceptive yet the public has been eating it up. I get that a concert is entertainment so they wanna give u the best possible show, but if I wanna see acting I'm gonna go to the theater. And if you point this out you're labelled a hater.
:ohwow:
Also while we're at it, why is nobody singing live anymore? I went to see Shakira and enjoyed it but most of the show was clearly lipped. Give us raw, imperfect vocals queens!!!
we don't care, shut up.
celine >>>
they only feel some type of way when bran allegedly does it
That is why I never ranked her above Nippy. She and Mariah were always tied to Nippy in the 90s when the real singer out the 3 was always Nippy. Singers not singing is egregious. Nippy got in front of a mic impromptu, sick, under the influence and still did her thing.
The way u were able to tell for both Celine and Shakira were lipping is why the argument some have that it is "necessary" doesn't make sense when the public can tell. It is mainly the gospel singers, smaller artists, and 75+ singing live.
Most of the folks here can't complain when Bran has been doing it for the past 15 YEARS and never want to say shit about it.
So you know what? After what Celine went through, that is someone who SHOULD be lip syncing when they have many performances to make through.
Someone who was 32 years old and HEALTHY that is lipping is a diff story...
It's not worth the risk for an artist to sing live if they're performing in venues larger than a theater in the 2020's tbh. Just have a good live track and give us a show tbh.

Now one of the issues I think is that the general public cannot clock the lipping whenever the artist prerecorded the vocal and lips somewhat good. It's strange.
Just going with nipped example: imagine if she had taken the easy route and lipped all of her performances for her last album/ tour. Would people have praised her instead of villyfying her? Then again I don't think she would've been good at lipping to that extent.

How do you feel about the theatrics of it all? Acting shocked about hitting notes that were lipped.

singers lipping is not the atrocity you're trying to make it. especially when they're clearly proven time and time again that they have the goods live. and i love nip downe, but sis was coked yf out. there were a collection of times where she
should have lipped. so that isn't saying much at all.

Hitting the wrong note and becoming a meme
Celine has been lipping in her shows since the 90's :plzstop:
She was my favorite diva from the 90'. Trust me, the high note on "All By Myself" wasn't live most of the time.
