Post by: emzen on March 08, 2016, 05:40:50 PM
QuoteYou can earn $125/donation, and donate up to 3 times per week (as much as $1,500/mo.) once qualified.

:ohwow:
there's a difference between ancestors who maybe are 2-3 generations away, and your direct parents. chances are very few people will go looking for their great great grandmother. :dead: but most kids will go looking for their parents at some point.

Even grandparents.

I've never seen my father's mother, not even a picture of her, and honestly its a little hurtful. That's my grandmother and they have no photos. Or my paternal grandfather either. They're both deceased. If those are my grandparents and I feel this way I could only imagine how a child would feel about not knowing who their parents are or what they look like.

I couldn't do it. I wouldn't feel right knowing that I have a kid out there regardless of the circumstances.

Hmmm... well IDK.
Some people don't feel the need to research where they come from, and some do.

IMO, I only care about those in my life right now.
Because they've attempted to be apart of my life and shown that they actually WANT to be apart of my life.

To me, it's just like having a friend...
If you don't make an effort to communicate with me, then I'm going to drop ya. I don't want to be the only one putting effort in a relationship with ANYONE. Friends or family...

It's not about some do, some don't.

Some people care about their ancestry, some don't.
I understand that. Not everyone cares who their grandmother or great grandmother is.

But MANY people care about who their biological parents are. It's not uncommon at all for an adopted child to begin asking questions about their biological parents once they become a certain age. And it goes beyond just wanting to know their names and faces. We inherit personality traits, and even increased vulnerability to certain illnesses from our parents and their family history.

This is why you see requirements listed for education, etc. on here. We are who we come from.

It's not the same as a friendship. This is your parent.

:stressed:

I know what you're saying & I get it. But I would feel the same way...

If I was adopted, it happened for a reason.
My biological parents didn't want me, weren't able to take care of me, or weren't ready, etc. ... So I wouldn't bother on trying to find them if they aren't trying to find me.

If you're not putting the effort in wanting to get to know me, or trying to connect in anyway then I won't waste my time in trying to connect with you.

BUT maybe you do have a point and maybe I just don't get it because I'm not adopted/didn't have a sperm donor.

Do you see Kenya on Atlanta's Housewives?
That's how children usually feel about their parents. I could not imagine my father not wanting to be in my life and rejecting me. But that's what Kenya is going through with her mother and I think a part inside of her just doesn't understand and accept it.

That is natural. Who would understand why their parent isn't interested? How do you begin to make logic of it as their child?

Not EVERY child will feel the need to seek out their parents, but most do. That's why adopted parents usually prepare themselves on how to answer those questions. The conversation is inevitable.

I was just looking at shit online and saw this and thought it was interesting. I wouldn't legit do this (but that's out of laziness and not wanting to drive around NYC) but there's nothing wrong with sperm donating.

Plenty of couples out there that can't procreate and depend on sperm banks. :)

where does it say no homos :dead: :kii:

and iono, being paid for a cup of your genetic material :dead:

150 is quite cheap, especially when you think of what the contract states, they probably own all rights to do whatever with your material... I'd feel violated
