QuoteBeyonce will be working on yet another video that I’m sure will have the people talking. The video will be starring the parents of Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice and Mike Brown. The parents will be holding pictures of their deceased sons. I have no doubt in my mind, that this video is bound to be a powerful one.

A pop star of her caliber is really taking a risk with this. It will definitely push buttons that most pop stars would avoid.
Kudos to her!
I'm so proud of her for taking a stand. Her influence will push others to follow suit. I wonder if her entire era will have this BLM theme.

First the message wasn't clear enough, now we have tea about her including the mothers of our fallen children....to make the message even more clear. and they'll find something else wrong. that's when you can really separate genuine concern from hatred.

Right. I mean if my main concern was her not fully delivering a message, and I received news that she planned on doing so, my mouth would be shut. However, if I really didn't care about the message, and just wanted to read her, I'd just find something else to challenge her on.

'fas has always been hood as fuck IMO. Just looking at her interviews and mess before she got so media trained.......the fact that Independent Woman Part 2 was actually the first version of the song, that she wrote, until they made them change it into something more pop.. :dead: little stuff like that tells me that 'fas enjoys being Black. she loves her culture. BDay alone. She is the epitome of a strong Black womuh.
Yes she has her Creole heritage, and mess, and she has every right to celebrate that as well cuz its hers and she's not claiming something she's not. But at the end of the day she still realizes she is a Black womuh. And she is proud of ALL of her heritage. And the disadvantages and hurdles that come with it, for her and others. If you REALLY want to go where it shouldn't have been anything, there shouldn't have been a question of what messages, big or small, could be sent to communicate Black pride.
If you didn't spend so much time sitting down challenging a message there would be no need to address it , or celebrate the fact that there is proof that I wasn't supporting something false or fake, or nonexistent.
Take accountability for your own misunderstanding. That's the last I'll say to you on this.
Guys, it's only the Rihtards upset about this.
I dont see her using her 400 copies in her first day influence to help make a change or talk awareness. Or even showing any concern. Maybe a fear that 400 copies in her first day might change to 200 copies in her first day for speaking on such a topic.

it was more like... "hey guys, stop racism. lets dance, doesn't matter if ur black or white, color is nonexistent! welcome to my perfect nation :ohwow: "
'fas is promoting ... stop fucking shooting us, leave our kids the fuck alone, and I love being fucking Black! let's get out our Afro picks! lmao!
it's a bit different. But GODnet and Michael definitely weren't hush on social issues.
Have you seen / heard "They Don't Care About Us"? He's saying society doesn't care about black people and has police in his video. He wasn't tip toe-ing there.

It's refreshing to see mainstream artist use their platform to address political, social and economic issues. Very reminiscent of the early 90s with MJ, NWA, Jan's, TLC etc...

I agree that shes very calculated but if she makes an actual record that says something, i can't eveb hate on her. Her intentions may still be questionable BUT this could also be the topic that hits closer to home, so iono. My main issue with formation was the lack of message. No shade girls, but why is this thread full of negativity and attacking others for their opinions?
There should be no "gotcha" moment or "I told you so". End of discussion :uhh:
Anyways, so glad these parents are gonna get another chance to express themselves. THATS what matters.
I would've rather sat in this thread and discussed the positive impact this COULD have
But if the girls are just gonna sit and bash others
Then I'm outta here LOLZ
I mean what can you say hun? Bey just kinda slapped you in the face again after you were asking her to really make a statement because Formation wasn't it for you.
You kinda have no ground to stand on.

I just don't think someone would make music in opposition of the majority if they were seeking $$ or fame
No matter how money hungry or attention seeking
Like, can someone explain how this benefits Beyonce outside of support from the black community(Which she's always had)?
Beyonce wants to be taken seriously as an artist, this is clear. She even said she wants to make more serious music, which started with 4. Some people considered that tryhard.
I'm not above thinking it could be genuine but there is still room for ulterior motive
I could see her thinking THIS could make her until the ultimate artist
But, she's black, her man is black, and her family is black, so this shit HAS to resonate with her. :plzstop:
Yea i half like beyonce so imma give her the benefit of the doubt and atleast wait till i hear the music and see the videos. It seems like the visuals this era could really be amazing
:stressed: :stressed:
I mean, no one's saying it's a bad thing to be calculated. A certain degree of calculation is necessary to be successful in any field. It's what makes Beyonce who she is.
The problem is that when a person like her does gestures like this, it's hard to not question whether or not it's coming from a genuine place or not. It's sort of like when Taylor, another artist who gets flack for being calculated, invited all those black people up on stage with her when she was on tour. A lot of people questioned whether she was doing it because she really wanted to, or if she had an ulterior motive.
Of course, Bey's and Taylor's situations aren't quite the same. Beyonce has a LOT more to lose, but if she doesn't, the impact will be huge and might cement that legendary status she craves so much.

She's definitely teaching her daughter to have PRIDE in her natural beauty as Black young woman. Which I know isn't easy reading and hearing everything that's sad about her. But I love that 'fas knows that weaves and wigs and mess comes with HER job description. Doesn't mean she has to slap a blond lacefront on Blu's head too. That in itself lends credibility to what she's doing.
This totally isn't something out of the blue IMO. And I've always given 'fas credit for standing up for that SILENTLY, way before GODmation ever dropped. Her Black Pride is nothing new.

You can bet ur damn bottom dollar on THAT. he would've canned this idea before it ever hit the table
Guys she's gonna flop this era
It's just not genuine IMO
She's using folks and the black movement to rile ppl up
Her first single didn't do good at all.. So I'm confused as to why she's pressing the issue...
She's getting a bit too old for antics... But this just my opinion

Guys, it's only the Rihtards upset about this.
I dont see her using her 400 copies in her first day influence to help make a change or talk awareness. Or even showing any concern. Maybe a fear that 400 copies in her first day might change to 200 copies in her first day for speaking on such a topic.
Whether you think she is being "opportunist" or not, Beyonc? is SPEAKING on it.

Work!
No one else is bringing up these important issues in their music and performance
I think we're fortunate to have one of the biggest stars in the world doing this
Michael and Janet touched on this but not as overt as Beyonce is doing it
Gotta applaud her for that
Are you serious?!
Michael tackled issues like this all the time.
"Black or White" and "Don't Care About Us" are two major examples.
Who said he didn't? :uhh:
Janet went in on it further on the issue past 'Rhythm Nation' on to the Janet album
What I'm saying is that, in this day in age where everything has to be neutral and PC, it's refreshing to see someone as polished, politically quiet and 'neutral' as Beyonce touch on these issues
MJ and Janet at that time were edgy and outspoken, so them singing about those things wasn't shocking, this coming from Beyonce, who's music isn't necessarily thought provoking... is

They're not doing it, which is kinda the point.
Gladly take the white coins but won't speak out against him.

i really hope the music overall speaks to the message and not just the images alone. beyonce has receipts for helping the cause more than most mainstream girls. the only reason folks even know they bailed out people in baltimore is because one the activists mentioned it. they didn't want it mentioned. i applaud any artist actually speaking to the times. that's part of what artists should do.

I don't think people realize that sis didn't HAVE to do any of this! Forget the charts or whatever, this is one of the biggest international superstars; people were already anticipating her next move long before Formation. She doesn't NEED this to sell or garner buzz lol. It's actually a big risk she's taking here since it's pretty much catered to one demographic.
:ermm:
I could see it being a risk, but I could also see it being more of a conscious image change from aloof pop star to outspoken social activist. Either way, she deserves props for speaking out and pushing the convo back to the forefront.

Will the alberm be free? Or will portions be donated to some cause?
No one knows but it wouldn't be the first time she used her money to pay for stuff for the BLM movement. Like when her and Jay paid for the protesters to get out of jail of when they donated 1.5 million through Tidal to BLM and what not.
No wonder why this girl is so successful. Most people don't realize the importance of paying it forward.

This is beautiful. It's about time.
I also hope this can lead to states paying more attention to the communities who need positive resources and guidance, to help prevent minority youth from engaging in violence amongst each other.
