I see why people are "eh" lately.
I am hoping Brandy is really inspired personally, image-wise, music-wise to really come through this following year. I could sense the shift in the supporters. Restlessness.

This is so weird because they said there 3 parts but now there's no mention of any other moments. And they didn't even show the Seneca segment.

That was great but it's time to change the narrative of Brandy's career. I feel like the past few years it's been more about her struggles. But all artists experience a decline at one point so why continue to focus on that? Brandy's accomplishments greatly exceed her failures and she should be viewed as such.

i don't think anyone has a problem with loving brandy and beyonce honestly.
if anything most brandy fans like Bey and vice versa.
Brandy is telling her story her way. The Mariahs and MJs don't tell their own, so the media and rumors tells a narrative for them.
I don't think many of us realize just how positive, determined, and ambitious she is now. She clearly faked it in the past, but this time it seems authentic.

That's just the nature of the business now. There used to be room for everyone. I respect Beyonc? a lot but she is responsible for how the landscape of music has changed where it only benefits a few at a time rather than opening doors for many to have the same opportunities.

Brandy is such a beautiful soul.

I'm kinda shocked she said that "specifically beyonce"
they showed the picture of her in the dyed hair and everything
Crazy. She definitely had control over this episode :dead: and Benny medina is a fucking mess for that

I see why people are "eh" lately.
I am hoping Brandy is really inspired personally, image-wise, music-wise to really come through this following year. I could sense the shift in the supporters. Restlessness.
But to be real, she had severe bouts of depression. I mean that accident and failed relationships would do that to anyone.
right. how people dont kinda get that is so ... odd.

That was great but it's time to change the narrative of Brandy's career. I feel like the past few years it's been more about her struggles. But all artists experience a decline at one point so why continue to focus on that? Brandy's accomplishments greatly exceed her failures and she should be viewed as such.
now this i agree with

Brandy is telling her story her way. The Mariahs and MJs don't tell their own, so the media and rumors tells a narrative for them.
I don't think many of us realize just how positive, determined, and ambitious she is now. She clearly faked it in the past, but this time it seems authentic.
When she finally does release this music, I don't know if I'll be able to deal.

Omg yall. I'm only 15 minutes in and I can't stop crying. Seeing Rai speak on how proud she was to discover who Brandy really is as an artist is really getting to me. Of course, I can't relate completely but I feel her. Brandy has always been my favorite artist but I didn't realise how much of an impact she had growing up. It wasn't until the mid 00's that I understood that one of my idols was also so important to Rnb. To pop culture. To our culture. I'll forever be a stan and rock this tattoo proudly.

this is actually the first time she's controlled the narrative, even though she spoke of all the struggles. she was in complete control and at peace which was never that case prior. Before she always seemed timid and disempowered.

You're absolutely right. Well said. It's about PURPOSE, and her purpose is everything to her.
The moment that really got me was when she talked about losing inspiration & passion, how she felt like she was "walking dead". For a creative spirit like her, that's devastating. So I'm thankful she feels passionate and inspired and rejuvenated again, and it's coming from inside herself, not an outside source. That's God.
I can't wait for next weekend and the west coast slayage
The space she's in now is so authentic :stressed: This was a great show. I am sure they talked about so much more. I want to see the rest of the footage. Ugh...so good.
just watched, it was such a special documentary
I got a bit teary eyed around the part of Full Moon, Rodney talking and suddenly the Have u ever video, for some reason, hearing her sing that song got me in that moment :'(
At the end of the video, you just feel that you want her to WIN again. I feel like its her moment again, it feels right, it feels fair. Glad to see Jeff in there and finally "meeting" who he is. I really really hope he goes hard for her, harder than whatever her previous managers did.

The only thing I didn't like was that she didn't really acknowledge her last three albums. It's as if she's ashamed of them or something. I don't think she realizes how influential and impactful Afro is regardless of commercial success.
Hopefully the mess is on my DVR when i get back home

It was moreso in relation to Sy'rai's age.
I just watched. This made me feel sad for brandy a bit, iono why yet because in the end she seems to be in a good place
I enjoyed this a lot. Brandy has come a long way. And she really kept it real. However I wish and not only Rodney had expounded more on the potential of Full Moon... That album campaign was cut tf short... The thought of it having 5,6 video like Darkchild said, made my mouth water... I know she was being honest, but next to Beyonc? she could have shouted out Ciara, J. Lo, Ashanti, all the sexy blonde/light brunette girls at the time... Iono didn't like her singling her out and calling herself unsexy...
And I wish she would have announced something concrete with it. The potential of the docu and timing seems a bit underused.
Iono why yall think every thing should be followed up by some huge announcement. This was a damn doc on centric, not some huge platform

Exactly.
That's what it comes down to.
The other day I was watching Ashton Kutcher speak and lord... he isn't articulate at all.
And that's not to say I (or we) don't have people in our lives who are not articulate, most of us are articulate ourselves. But it's no different than telling someone "Wow, you're beautiful", IMO.

I agree with the point that Queen needs to start discussing Afrodisiac more if she likes it or not, cuz that album definitely influenced and received massive praise from a lot of artists and critics... Fuck how the era played out and just acknowledge that this is one of ur best albums and includes some of ur best songs EVER!
But Sy'rai!!!! She is so wise for her age! Bran and fam are doing a GREAT job raising her!
Dead at Centric not including any of Shay's interviews or the group shots Bran took that day with them at the fountain... Bran was like edit that BITCH out! #SHAYde
