Post by: merkaba on June 01, 2016, 04:09:45 AM
I really have no desire for meat now.  :plzstop: It's really crazy how that one documentary changed my mindset. I keep thinking of alternatives if I go out to eat.

Stew

Do you have to consume more of everything else when you drop meat?

Like a significant amount.

Or is it comparable?

i think in general you have to eat a larger volume of food (more carbs) once you cut the dairy and meat out...because they're high in fat and even lean meats always contains some fat...  fat has a much higher caloric density than carbs. so at any given meal, i think i have had to triple or quadruple my carb intake (a lot more rice, beans, potatoes, yams, grains, other starches and fruit) to meet my caloric needs and maintain my weight.....but then if you cant eat that much volume of food, you could increase your  [plant-based] oil intake slightly (eat more nuts, seeds, avocados, etc and some overt [cooking] oils)..overt oils are cool but i try to keep them as low as possible
