Title: Is this whole Orlando incident
Post by: Bigmacthawoppa on June 13, 2016, 10:00:14 PM
making anyone else hate straight people?

Like, I look through my fb and it's all these straight "friends" of mine completely oblivious to how much of an impact this has on the gay community. Not even giving a "so sad" tea but just going on posting about their stupid fucking lives.

"Preggers 'gains!"
"Bby took a shit and it's solid omg, so proud!"
"Hap' fam!"

It honestly is making me kinda sick. Anyone else experiencing this?

!!!

What really pissed me off is the moment the news of this tragedy hit. One of my straight "friends" said she was "safe in orlando". This bitch is not gay nor in that club. Only 4 people liked ha status.

Exact same thing happened for me too. This chick. Trying to capitalize on the moment. Like bitch you know you think gays are going to hell, STFU.

What kills me is that my so-called friends had all these posts up and through their pages about the Paris attacks, talking about it at the water cooler, etc.

It makes me realize that my being gay is just a novelty to them. They like having a funny gay friend but at the end of the day they're gonna vote away my rights if it suits them. They have their stupid myopic view of life and it's get married and make babies and then they feel they've made some grand contribution to the world. FUCK them.

Exactly, which is why for the most part if your not someone I value in my life, then I dont feel the need to tell you I'm gay.

I agree, but this is exactly how I feel about the gay community when Blacks are being murdered by cops, and those fags
are posting about Starbucks & sharing those damn 'Tasty' food videos without even a peep about what the fuck is going on.

That is true aswell. Which is why being black and gay can be tough as fuck.

I 100% agree with this. I generally try not to post anything on social media about tragedies like this and black people being massacred by cops, mostly b/c it's hard to comment without making it seem like I'm making it about myself (which many of those posts do just come off so narcissistic).

My main problem is when people post about one tragedy but then completely ignore another. Just shows their ignorance.

The random comments saying that they "deserved it" for x and x religious reason are really urking me.

And a lot of bigots are really coming out of the woodwork. Its really sickening. Nothing has changed tbh.

!!!!!! They view us as accessories and give not one damn about our rights. Its really sad. You have to be very careful of the people you surround yourself with.

Because if it was one of us, these same people prob wouldn't even bat an eyelash.

Yh. And its funny that a lot of these non-black gays will go back to being racist and discriminatory after singing kumbaya.

My best friend who is bi and lives in Philly said they held a vigil downtown for Orlando, he felt for the victims but wanted to know how many of these vigil goers supported Trayvon Martin or Eric Garner

I wouldn't feel bad. I think it's natural to feel slighted, especially as a black gay man. Gay whites sometimes are the worst racists (ironically), so it must be hard to empathize when you know they didn't give a shit about any black causes.

i understand how you feel but dont let it change who you are and how you normally operate as a person. Keep that big, kind
heart going the way it normally is. I understand the frustration though

yea, people on social media typically discuss and post about what directly affects them.

The majority of the victims were black and latino though so I don't see why this can't also be a black cause.

Like, I'm actually going through my friends list scouting to see which family or friend is talking about so i can delete them and when they see me in public and I walk right pass them I want them to really ponder all day wondering why I'm not talking to them. I did that when the Freddie Grey and Sandra mess happened and my fake latino friends and classmates were talking shit and sharing dumb posts.

:stressed: I'm trying.

I've already booted a lot of people out of my life due to their racism and now I just feel like it might be time to get rid of som hom'phobes.

I just had to boop my aunt off my fb friend list b/c of an anti-muslim post with a courtesy message tellin her to watch it or I won't be coming to Thanksgiving anymore.  :watchit:
