Title: Katy Perry Explains Why She Released ?Rise? When She Did

Eyebrows were raised last night when Katy Perry suddenly dropped a new single ? Rise ? right as Britney Spears released her first single in over a year, and the first from a new album in three years.
While many of us had Applause/Roar flashbacks, it appears Ms Perry had much more honourable reasons for surprise releasing her first single in two years.
Not only was the track a collaboration between Perry and US TV network NBC for the 2016 Rio Olympics, but Perry explained how current world events fuelled her creative process this morning on The Today Show, saying Rise was a song that was ?brewing inside me for years, that?s finally come to the surface? and that ?I know together we can rise above the fear ? in our country and around the world?
Perry has since uploaded an Olympic montage music video for Rise to her YouTube channel, featuring footage of the world?s best athletes:

Finally, Katy also confirmed Rise is not a single for her upcoming fifth studio album.

It's a cute song i kinda like it  :supluv:

A bit boring to be honest.. These videos are visually amazing if you like athletes but I think we all just want to see Katy
