I disagree. Lauren London made an entire career off of characters like this and Nicki did it better imo. The discoveries were there. She didn't seem to be pre-planning her responses or any of her choices.
Nicki's character was expressing the plight of thick black women--well, all thick women tbh. And idk, it just seems like if it was Emma Stone or somebody in the scene, with the same dialogue, you would've been praising.
