I used to have it so much I used to be thankful to sleep next to someone. I would be making grunt noises to signal my bf to wake me up. I would say thank you and fall back asleep right after.

5. You can?t just wake yourself up.
Some patients report that they can wiggle their toes, fingers, or facial muscles, which helps them wake up the rest of their body. ?Everybody tries something different, but you can?t fool mother nature ? there?s no way to pull yourself out of it. You just have to wait it out,? says Breus.

Quote?Research has shown that sleep paralysis is not dangerous,? says Breus. ?It does not cause physical harm to the body and there are no clinical deaths known to date.? While there are some terrifying cultural explanations around the world, these are constructed to make sense of a very mysterious condition.
?The biggest thing is to educate people to not be afraid,? says Breus. ?In all likelihood, they just need more rest. If they get enough sleep and the episodes continue with any regularity, then they should go to a sleep disorder specialist.?

I hope it's not demonic related because the time I saw that shadow I forgot it off and was cussing it out in my mind because I was convinced it wasn't real and I was hungry and wanted to wake up to eat.

When you were younger did you ever feel like you were being chased by something?

Whenever I would go in my backyard I would hear...A presence and then I'd start running and I swear I cold hear something following me and sometimes I'd see shadows like I remember laying on my swing set and looking up and seeing some shadow man looking over me but when I sat up he was gone.

Most of the time when it happens and I wake up, I go back to sleep and it happens again.

But I've learned if I wake up from it then pray, then go back to sleep it doesn't happen.
And I haven't had it happen for awhile. Thank GOD.
until the last time I mentioned (of the whisper)... that was a couple of weeks ago.

I've learned that when I forget to pray before bed is when it happens the most.

It's a reflection of your mental state. I experienced sleep paralysis about two times before and it stemmed from the anxiety and insomnia I had at the time.

Yeah that's true I only got sleep paralysis when my sleep schedule was really fucked up and I wasn't sleeping as long as I should have so whenever I took a nap my body would sleep longer than my mind.

I once encountered a figure who was tall and all black with the body of a man but the head of a horse.

The most demonic looking thing I have ever seen.
I once had a giant black hand hovering over me when I woke up that kept me from moving

Then I have had amazing experiences from being in the Holy Spirit and feeling the presence of the most high.

I have heard/spoke and received institutions from angels before
Woke up in Limbo where the sounds and things I experienced did not obey the laws of the third dimension.

I mean I could go on and on.

When I'm in an uNfamiliar place or sleeping alone; I have to have cartoons on or something.

Normally I sleep with my bf so I'm good  :dead:

One time I scared the SHIT out of him in the middle of the night because my body was contorted when he woke me up.
I was feeling like something was trying to RIP my soul from my body. Like I could literally FEEL it.  Had no idea what was happening in the physical realm because I couldn't come back into consciousness. But when he finally woke me up my body was so bent back I even scared myself. The entire upper portion of my body was lifted back and bent away from the bed.

YESS!!!

I've had this numerous times in my life. You feel like you're drowning and trying to come up and break the surface so you can move, but you can't.

Mine are always sinister experiences. I once heard my apartment door open and a bunch of footsteps rushing into my room and sinister voices whispering my name and I couldn't move but I wanted to.

It use to happen to me years ago quite often. I remember once seeing a black shadow at my bedroom door and it started to walk towards me and felt like it was pinning me down. It's scary asf because you can't do anything about it you're literally STUCK.

Even nowadays if I just happen to wake up in the middle of the night I just try and keep my eyes closed cuz I'm afraid of seeing something or being stuck in a paralysis

But ummm reading that post about someone feeling the need to sit up and say "Satan"

:stressed:

Some of you girls are just catching glimpses, some are misinterpreting. Some is just sleep disorders.

See girls ... Um how do I explain this
Spirits have to manifest
They're not like us

So if you afraid of big BLACK men, that vibe that the spirit gives you may cause your human eyes to see a big sooty man standing over you. Which intensifies it cause you can sense the spirit is there to harm you

Or in Tarigs case a nice warming presence
Tarig I'm sensing blue is your fav color, that's why the room glowed blue
It was a spirit you knew, am I correct?

Hypnagogic and hypnopompic visions and hearing a demonic voice when resistance is attempted are symptoms commonly experienced during episodes of sleep paralysis. Some scientists have proposed this condition as an explanation for reports of ghost parasites and alien visits.

:ATLcameo:

Every time this has happen to me, I just call on God's name and I pop out them. Usually, I can fall right back into a normal sleep, but the weird thing about sleep paralysis is once you wake up you literally feel drain. Like something has drain all the energy out of you.

I use to have it multiple times a month when I was a teenager. Now it's like one time a month or two.

You need to close every room in your appartement that contain water (bathroom, toilet ...) before sleeping. Those "things" come from here.

The scariest experience was when I was 23. Mind you, I always lock my bedroom door before sleeping ok ?

Well, I woke up paralyse in the middle of the night and the only thing I could move (as always) was my eyes, toes and finger tips. I saw a little thing in the corner of my bed looking at me.
Then this thing (looking like hum ... GOLUM) jumped on my chest and I could feel his breath.
Then I managed to scream (it wasn't a scream tho, just a gasp of a little sound because of course, in this situation you can't speak or scream).

At this moment this thing jumped from me and the bed and I saw it run into the toilet and disappear.

I pray as always and I immediately been able to move again.

And ... My door was WIDE open.

With the years i learned to accept this shit and now overtime it happen I just pray, calm myself and it disappear in a few minutes.

I also remember one friend of my who used to making fun of me when I told him the story.

One night he came so sleep because we were going to the airport in the morning. And guess what ? HE GOT PARALYSE AND FELT A BREATH ON HIS FACE HAHHAHAHA !!! I herd him trying to say something and as soon as I touched him to wake him up, he immediately jumped form the bed hahahahaha

ffff there's actually a medical explanation for it

QuoteIt's normal for your muscles to be paralysed at certain times when you're asleep. Sleep paralysis occurs when the mechanism that causes your muscles to relax during sleep temporarily persists after you've woken up.

Sleep paralysis can sometimes be a symptom of narcolepsy. This is a relatively rare sleep disorder, which causes severe disruption to the sleep-wake cycle. An inability to stay awake for more than three or four hours is usually the main symptom.

Other things that increase your risk of getting sleep paralysis include:
?sleep deprivation
?irregular sleeping patterns
?age ? it's more common in teenagers and young adults

?age ? it's more common in teenagers and young adults

but "Para! Supernat'! BUFFY!" :plzstop:

Wow science prevails again.

i had one shoot into my room once

i was in the guest/computer room with my back turned and my cousins caught it and screamed.  When we all got up and
walked toward my room, the door was closed and my room was completely lit up at like 2AM

that same night there was a loud noise downstairs, and everything was knocked down on the floord. DVD's, pillows,
all kinds of stuff.  this was just 5 years ago

Oh honey no
it was a good thing. the presence felt Angelic

you're cousins SAW it? omg I don't know how I would live  :uhh:

Now I really do think SP has something to do with our souls crossing being "reality" and the astral plane.
When we awake abruptly our bodies are "here" but our souls are still catching up

Yes I think our dreams are also connected to some source. It is a combination of spiritual messages (sometimes symbolism) and processing everyday life.
I had some crazy lucid dreaming yesterday and it is like I am getting better at it everytime. I think it is because I ask myself ?is this real or a dream?? when I am in a dream and I am getting faster at knowing the difference. I always feel a desire to fly and I notice I really create my reality with my own thoughts; I can?t do what I want if I have doubts/fear/insecurities. Sometimes I do feel my own body being stuck (I experience it as pain or discomfort)..it is like the physical body is stuck in my bed and my mind has a body that can travel around.

The connection between lucid dreaming and death is nothing new: over a thousand years ago, Tibetan Buddhists developed an entire science around how to wake up in dreams to prepare for death, believing that if lucid dreaming was developed enough, people could remain conscious at the moment of death and maintain awareness right through the transitional processes beyond death and into the next life.

These lucid dreams teach me how to die.

First I was afraid of hurting myself because I thought my body might jump from a building in real life..but now that I read more about Lucid Dreaming I feel more safe and I think it is worth it to practice.

I just picked up a book from the library to learn more..the first step is questioning if something is reality or not (you can practice this when you are awake) and also waking up after six hours of sleep and falling asleep again after fifteen minutes being awake. You will enter rem-sleep (it makes sense because I have the craziest dreams after waking up and falling asleep again). People use lucid dreaming for creative inspiration, problem solving, dealing with nightmares/fears of for example death, healing or adventure.

The Egyptians were also very into this dream state. They even had special dream temples where people would sleep and the dreams would be analyzed. The Egyptian word for dream ?rswt? actually means awake (open eye symbol). If you look at the Greek mythology and the Bible dreams were really important..however, a lot Christian people started to believe dreams were signs from the devil because you can do anything in your dreams (sin). Of course some scientists believe it is just the brain doing crazy stuff (same discussion as near death experiences) I guess most of us lost the connection to dreams.
