Umm I don't know tbh.. Love is the answer of course but it is still strange how there are so many white models on those catwalks. I think he should be more aware of that.

No

People of color can't have straight hair? Or is he trying to imply that white people own straight hair? Because that's not the case lol.

Meanwhile this all edgy and cool whilst someone black with the same hairstyle will miss out on job opportunities for rocking it.

And the "I see no color" mess makes it worse. The color blind mess never helps.

he doesnt, cause Black women definitely get flack for straightening their hair sometimes & not embracing their natural kinky texture, or for wearing weave especially blonde

The point is, there ain't no colored gorls modeling his very wack ass collection :plea:

Nope.

In addition to all the aforementioned reasons posted by others who I agree, you can't strip the context of why some Black women/people chose to straighten their hair or go with a blonde mess or even bleach their skin. It all stems back to white supremacy.

You psychologically condition a people to hate their skin color and adhere to your "races" standard of beauty historically across the globe for centuries and then act oblivious when they do it, please.

But this love as the answer and appreciation for all is not reflected on the runway.

it's a hairstyle.

nnn

Black women walk around with straight blond weaves.

And I get it, dreds are cultural but the same gorls crying about this will be the same to slap a perm or quick weave in their heads. Or call someone else's hair nappy. I'm just over all the outrage over stupid shit.

SJW are the pits. People just wanna be outraged.

What fucking point does he have? The whole fucking point is that these pale ass people are modeling his collection channeling "innovation" when niggers been channeling this for millenniums, yet not a nigger is seen on that fucking catwalk. I'm so SICK of these fucking people. And that I don't see colour shit is tired. Diversity is beautiful. We are NOT all one.

People are getting a little too loose with the whole "culture vulture" and "cultural appropriation" comments without even knowing what it means. Marc has consistently used a diverse array of models for his runway shows and ad campaigns. People need to stop getting outraged by everything white people do. smfh

He KINDA has a point. There's been a few times when I expressed how I feel about Black women wearing straight blond weaves, and MANY gorls here came @ me and said "its just a hairstyle, not that serious etc."

But it's never "just" anything when it comes to Black women and their hair. Ever. It's so much history behind it so to ever write it off is wrong. It's extremely sensitive and touchy.

So I see BOTH sides.

We need to start embracing our God given hair more, and embrace others who are openly embracing theirs. I'm surprised that Marc went there with the straightening comment, usually white people are oblivious to the mess that goes down in our community when it comes to stuff like that. :plzstop: But his comment is falling in line with the "oh! just a style!" mess that MANY gorls said on here when it comes to our favs installing Blond mess into their hair. Or straightening or perming or whatever.

The European standards of beauty are so deeply BAKED into our psyches and culture that I cannot even blame them for grabbing that Indian Yaki or tryna get an brazilian curl mess. it's what Black men want to see apparently. they've made it clear with the women they date and idolize. (See: Kanye's latest casting call)

A Black man, looking as Black and African as they come ..... putting a "mixed only" sign on his treehouse.

I dunno..... i know a lot of companies that are embracing the natural hair movement bvy :usureuok:

There's two women with dreds where I work, another with braids

However, one of them did have to deal with a new Indian female employee asking "what is that you put into ur hair?" sdsdbbdsdsdbsbsdbdsbdsbsbdbsbd she legit never saw dreds before. :plzstop: :plzstop: :plzstop: I had to calm my coworker down...like ch....she knows NOT what she do. let it go

she was being honestly and genuinely curious.
maybe but the fact that they even have to fight to wear their hair naturally is problematic. And not all black hair is kinky or curly or whatever. They have bone-straight hair too.
