QuoteWhile there are many reasons to fall in love with all that is displayed in the music history section of the museum, one of the most remarkable aspects is realizing the effort the museum curators put into ensuring that as many Black artists and musicians as possible were included. Some artists are highlighted with their very own exhibits, while others receive a more subtle spotlight. Either way, each of the artists can forever say they are a part of American history that stands tall and proud at the center of our nation's capital. Here's a look at 23 of the many modern-day Black artists you'll be glad -- or maybe even surprised -- to know are featured and recognized for their contributions to our rich musical history.

Since "Run It!" minus "X" era.
There's about 200+ artists or their artifacts featured in the museum..
Diana
Jans
MJ
Prince
Parliament
Lauryn hill
Run DMc
The list goes on and on. They did a great job of capturing all the genres country, rock, classical, gospel, jazz, etc.
I attended and MJ and Whitney are both included. However, I didn't see anything Brand related and surprised that I didn't see anything about The Boy Is Mine, Moesha, OR Cinderella present.
For anyone else that went, did you see anything Brandy related and if so, what was it and where?

i feel like lists that have LEGENDS with the addition of some barely remembered flop, only do that to not look 'generic' or too mainstream
Wow KING Budden has y'all fuming lolz
we know the culture! enthusiasts!
I remember this one too mainly cause of the party scene in Mean Girls
Obscure flop gorls that you involve must at least be artistically excellent...
Like a Janelle Monae, Terrence Trent D'Arby, or Meshell Ndegocello
