This song is so iconic.
I love that the reactions from so many were, "WTF?" and "TRASH!" because it didn't have an instantly gratifying melody like a "Work". As a fan, I get nervous when Bee does records like "Formation", "Bow Down", and "Run The World", because generally, they don't go over well with mainstream Pop listeners. And they force their general consensus that something isn't good.
But Beyonce always sticks to her guns. And she not only got this record into the top 10 of the Hot 100 (making it a hit on paper), she dominated the VMAs, and now got it nominated for ROTY & SOTY.
It really has become my favorite Beyonce uptempo.
