How would you manage or run her career if you were in control?
wait for "n" "c" and "b" posts.
Thats the best some can do these days :kii:
Hard to say tbh. She definitely should stick to the vibe of her mixtapes tho.
drop Tuna back in the ocean
She's never gonna pop off as a solo music artist
I'd send her to Nickelodeon
The first thing I would do is work on her styling. Sis needs a LOOK.
She has potential, but everything about her visually is so basic.
I'd tell her that she should pursue a career as a songwriter not a featured artist/performer.

I think she has better looks than Monica. Just to name one example.
Keep her in the alt r&b lane w/ mainstream collabs & touches here and there
There's nothing wrong with having a niche tbh
Look at Twigs & Frank
Also she should make more key collabs w/ big rappers. The Chance & Drake collabos were a step in the right direction. The songs just needed more exposure.
Black artists almost always need to solidify some type of core urban audience first. Then, crossover. Rihanna is the only black superstar I can think of that dominated in Pop first and then worked on securing an Urban base later. As long as Tinashe's label keeps marketing her as a Pop princess with stuff like "Superlove" and "Player", I doubt she will ever do anything. Not to mention, those songs in particular are weak. One even featured Chris Brown. How do you cater to a demographic featuring an artist they don't even support? Bad marketing!
And honestly, girls like Tinashe won't break until Beyonce and Rihanna become washed. These new girls aren't doing anytihng those 2 don't cover across the industry spectrum as far as looks, sounds & performance. That's the only reason Nicki was able to really carve out a lane amongst them -- because she offered something different as a rapper.
Tinashe is very early 2000's with the over the top choreography and generic Pop songs. Her videos would have been like #9 or #10 on TRL.
If I was a Manager, I wouldn't take her on as a client.
Waste of time and dollars.

They are in 2 different lanes. Tin' is trying to be a mainstream Pop gorl.
Just being a cute light-skinned gorl with long hair isn't gonna cut it anymore.
She's just not...it.

I agree with all of this.

but !!!!!!!!!!
and I love a LOT of Tinashe's music. But she's extremely late and disappointing as an overall artist.
Was much better before she signed.

Nnn well damn
Yeah
She doesn't offer anything that Bey and Rih can't
Since she wants to be a main Pop girl.
I would get her some surgery to fix her box body.
then go from there

ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
It's sad that we can only have like 1 or 2 Black girls slaying at the same time.
Meanwhile it's several White girls out doing their thing right now.
Well she needs to decide if she wants to be a pop gur or urban gur.
She's straddling the damn fence, from Party Favors to Player to SuperLove to Company
Make up your mind hun
:uhh:

Tina she should find a middle ground between bubblegum and gargoyle music. With here it seems like it's "either or"
For Tuna, I would have sis completely ABANDON her urban sound and go completely Pop. Back in the studio with Calvin Harris, Snakehips, ect. The white gorls actually like her a lot and I could see them supporting her more if she stuck with a mainstream sound. The FKA Twigs mess aint working for ha and she's just gonna have to DEAL.

you have a point. and its not like urban music, mainly females, is selling anymore, so.... yeah, going straight pop/mainstream would be the best choice right now.
dont even approach the Ciara sound again, go all out.

Her biggest (only) mainstream hit was an Urban song, "2 On" and her mixtapes are urban/Alt. How would going Pop do anything for her? n

That "All My Friends" song was amazing and successful and so was Drop That Kitty, terrible song for me though. I see Trey's point. The pop audience could use her in the vain of Fifth Harm', Sele', and Ari' :howfestive: I'd be interested to hear Tinasha tackle some of the songs on each of their albums. It would be a quadrupled effort to really INVADE the lane Rih used to have to herself. Clog it up with Tinash' pop chunes! :ohwow: :ohwow:
All My Friends >>>>>>
I love that song
